I think 2.0 is better represents the name, Squad Busters. In 1.0 maybe 1 or 2 squads got busted. Now it’s the reverse. 1 or 2 survive. Which is exciting. Game play was repetitive in 1.0. Endless turbo chases. 2.0 started repetitive but quickly found its footing through balance changes. Still some work do there. Different game mods, Bots problem has got to be fixed. Maybe with 30sec-1min Que times. I also don’t think they realize how much of a struggle hero points are for F2P. It’s not fun having super low heroes and no end in sight. Free max sonic just for playing daily is a start. No reason the 3 special daily rewards shouldn’t give 50 hero points each, each day. Clash of clans daily rewards gives ores. They also have clan wars/league for more resources. Until something like teams or clans for more hero point, event hero points should be giving us more. If you want to get the majority of people that still play, to care about grinding or playing daily during or not even when there isn’t an event. I think a team’s idea would be fun. 4 people. You can add points to your team playing solo, 2x points for duo, and 4x points for a new game mode, teams 4v4v4. No respawns for either. I think duo gem hunt in general shouldn’t have respawning. Fixes the bug just like that too lol. Maybe you do some events with teams too. Surely there is some kind of competitive way to use teams.
First of all, I love supercell. Your games are so fun and enjoyable. I have a switch and a PlayStation but I would almost always rather play one of your mobile games. The reason I give a 3 star review is because of some major concept flaws. First of all, why would you want to engage in combat with other people? There are 2 scenarios. 1. They kill you and you lose. 2. You kill them, but because of how many blows you took, someone else will easily come and beat your severely damaged army. Another flaw is that the battles feel repetitive to me. I feel like even with the modifiers you have the same gameplan each time. Take brawl stars for example. Whenever you load into showdown, you don’t have a set gameplan. You have to observe what brawlers your up against, see if they are taking the power cubes, and decide whether to be aggressive or try to be defensive. Squad busters however, is just collect gems. Get chests. Collect more gems by killing enemies. Don’t fight with people unless you have a clear advantage. It feels so repetitive. The final flaw is the RNG. In many supercell games like clash royal, you can see CLEARLY when you make good plays, and MISTAKES. In squad busters, whenever I lose a match or get killed, I almost never think it is my fault. I’m not really controlling anything. I just stop moving and hope I come out on top. Maybe I need to get good, maybe their could be changes to the game. Anyways, I really think this is a cool game, but some flaws need to be addressed.
For a new game its pretty good. I’m a fan of some other Supercell games as well. I love the crossover with all characters from different games. Thats just good use of IPs. Gameplay is smooth. RNG is not bad. I enjoy the new bounty hunting feature. Where I see it needs some work is in the rewards and consistency of play. The ninja guy that comes up sometimes to reward after each “chest” you unlock has such a short timer that I can never finish the reward chain. In connection to that, the amount of chests you can unlock before the timer automatically loads another available is a little long to the point where I just dont care to go back until almost the next day. I think either increasing the amount of chests to unlock or decreasing the timer would help a lot. However, if neither is done then rewards from gameplay, such as stars and pinata parts, should be increased to meet the requirement for those other timed rewards, as those also cannot be met in the allotted time. With every failed attempt to reach the reward requirements it makes me want to play less and less as the incentive always shorts me compared to my effort. Lastly, what is the point of decorating your main screen? Its a kind of pointless feature honestly and somewhat of a missed opportunity. The decorations could be connected to certain character which would buff them in game or they could just give general buffs for the team. Just an idea for this feature which just rings kind of hollow.
