Like others who love Asda, I do the majority of my grocery shopping online and since August (when I was gifted a smartphone) had the rewards app, also like many others due to a ‘security update’ by Asda I can no longer access my online shopping (which I need) or the rewards app., I have been over 3 months trying to resolve this, numerous calls to customer services ( I presume not located on this continent) and 2 letters to Asda head office, it just keeps getting passed on and nothing is being done to resolve it, I received an email this morning but even that had been sent incorrectly, I had transferred what money I had in my rewards to the ‘Christmas saver’ but now I cannot access that either, at least reading these reviews I realise I am not the only one but please Asda sort this out!, Update:- Sorted, took a while but ever so grateful to be able to shop online before Christmas
Asda rewards app was great. I was a Blue Light card holder earning 10% off, and I got coupons, money off and missions along with star products. Then, the 10% went to only fresh goods. Then Blue light was axed altogether. Now there are no missions or star products. I only really shop at Asda, and I’ve earned a big fat £0 in the last 4 months! I’m stuck on £1.50. A couple of years ago, I’d saved around £100 by now, which was great to put towards Xmas. Having read other reviews, (and responses), I’m not the only one disgruntled by these changes. How can you say that savings are now available to everyone with Rollback, and that the app is a great way to “add extra” savings? Yes, rollback prices are fine IF you purchase those items; if not you get a big fat £0. But to suggest the app is a great way to “add extra savings” is simply untrue; I’ve earned basically nothing all year, Blue Light is no longer valid, there are no star products and no missions, so please tell me how I’m supposed to earn “extra savings???”. The only thing you keep pushing on the app are very annoying ads for a credit card, some vet care and car insurance, presumably as a way to boost your profits via other channels. Having no need for a credit card, no pets or need for car insurance, these are useless and quite irritating actually. Yet another way advertising is forced on us. I thought the rewards app was for the customer to earn, not you! Whilst I love Asda products and have always shopped there, it would appear there are now many disgruntled customers; myself included. Unfortunately, that’s another customer you’ve sadly lost. My Sainsbury’s supermarket is close by, and whilst they are a little more expensive, at least I earn something through the nectar scheme. So why the big change? Were you giving away too much money?
I use Asda every week. So lets just say I probably spend on average £3000 - £4000 a year here. Recently this app has been unreliable. For example the offers often don't match the products on the rewards so you miss out on the extra pounds in your reward pot. When I want to see the history of my rewards it says “sorry we are unable to process your request, please try again in a few minutes” also when at till it sometimes wont allow you to use your pile of money off vouchers - im nearly at £50! Its been like this for a week now and i have a fairly new iOS (iphone14). I have logged out and logged back in done a little dance but nothing seems to work. Dont get me wrong though the whole incentive is a great idea and has really made me a even more loyal shopper at Asda despite the business being plunged into a huge debt pile by two gentlemen from Bradford! Another plus no nonsense reward prices like tesco and sainsburys which makes me want to shop at these places even less! If you sort these errors you have a truely awesome application!
