I work catering as a side job and sometimes I have to find my own parking. ParkUp was recommended by my catering manager and it’s great. I just used 2x in the past few days to find parking in Downtown LA and it was so useful. The support is amazing. The first time I used I didn’t know what time my event would end and most of the parking lots have 2 prices: one for all-day, which ends at 2am and one for overnight, which goes until 11am. My event possible could have went past 2am, so I didn’t know what to do. The day off I emailed support in the morning and they responded right away. I was already shocked by that. I emailed back and forth with support to solidify what would happen and they said to pay the all-day rate, email them what lot it is and they’d let the manager know. There would be no extra charge if I was there after 2am. Well, I did end up leaving just before 2am, but I felt comfortable knowing if I did go past 2am I was okay. Not only did they help me with this, but my first use was free and they refunded my payment immediately. I ended up using the next night as well for the same lot and the attendant simply looked at my confirmation in the app and I was off to park. So easy! Highly recommend.
Before I downloaded this app I was paying $10 more to park everyday 5 days a week! Found a new garage to park at a block away and save $10 a day! I was also downtown over the weekend to visit the staples center with my girlfriend and used the app to find parking. As we were walking to the venue I wasn’t surprised to see other lots charging double what I paid using this app. Best app for saving money downtown!
I had to download this app in a rush to park in downtown LA before a client dinner. Looking at it later in the app store and googling some other reviews, I saw some worrisome review comments about privacy policy implications and inability to remove financial information as a user. After doing some research I decided to email the company a legalese style message to make sure my info was removed. Turns out the chest-puff approach wasn’t necessary. 3 hours after my email (on a Sunday) I was contacted by the named agent on the public business filings. He was extremely understanding and professional. Completely put my mind at ease. He deleted my ParkUp App account and all info. Deleted my account with his payment processor that contained the financial info I provided. He even refunded my parking payment. If I had reason to use the app again, I would re-open my account with confidence. Gotta respect a business leader putting in the hours on a Sunday morning.
