I have had this lock installed for over a year. The battery life is sub-par. It uses a CR2 battery, which, on the scale of batteries, is more difficult to find, and typically more expensive. For the cost of this lock and the amount of issues it has, this is simply an over priced useless amenity! You could easily purchase a different brand for over $100 less with likely better reliability. The proximity sensor is trash, it does not automatically unlock the door before I can actually get to the door when I arrive home. I can stand there and wait at the door for 30 to 45 seconds just waiting on the proximity sensor to unlock the door, or I can pull out my phone and unlock it nearly always before proximity does what it is supposed to do. However, the latter only applies if the lock and app and Wi-Fi are 100% perfectly in sync, otherwise, it will just tell you you were out of range, when obviously, you're not because you're standing next to the door. Lastly, do not even brush your arm against this lock. God forbid you're going to get the mail, you don't have your phone on you, and you brush against the lock as you're shutting the door because it will lock you out before you can react. If you accidentally touch any portion of this lock inside outside or striker panel it will lock, but not instantly, it's almost timed perfectly to when you shut the door and take one step away. do yourself a favor, save your money, and buy a different brand.

Best feature - auto unlock - when I pull into the driveway, I know I know my door is automatically unlocked and I can walk in unencumbered without needing to pull out keys. Coolest feature - when I walk up to the door with a group of friends and I use my watch to unlock the door! Most reassuring feature when I’m sitting in bed at night just about to doze off and I asked Siri if all my doors are locked and she confirms that all my doors are locked! I have 3 locks installed 1 bolt and 2 Lock +. They all work perfectly. I’m assuming the issues that people complain about have everything to do with installation. Doors have to be true and your lock has to be within range. Simple. If my door jams it’s because it’s not closed properly and if you want Apple Home Keys to work you have to have good range. Get a hub close and all the features work flawlessly. And if the Internet is out, the product works perfectly with Bluetooth and the keypad. I used HelloTech to install 1 of my locks because the door wasn’t in great shape. HelloTech got the door trued up and adjusted the hinges and plate so the bolt closes without any issues. They made it so easy and they spent time making sure all the features I wanted to set up worked! Worth having professionally installed! Best smart lock and built like a Swiss watch!

I’ve had issues from day one using the Apple HomeKit app. I spent no fewer than 40 hours of logged time on the phone, plus numerous emails with their support team. The outcome of this is that if you’re planning to use it with Apple HomeKit. You better have an Apple home hub within inches of the lock. Not the 20 feet as advertised. And yes I do have the Matter firmware update. Otherwise, you will have a very long frustrating time keeping this from the infamous “no response” in your Apple HomeKit. If this changes. I will update this feedback statement. But I will take the exact amount of time that it took this company from fixing their product in ways that they promised that it worked. Meaning it will be forever before I update this. When will these technology style companies realize that they need to make their product work before they add any additional features or updates. I wonder if they realize that it is contract law 101. If somebody purchases your product. Then that company needs to honor their side of the deal, which means your product needs to work as you advertise it. Or put a disclaimer that your customer may experience tons of issues. And they may have to spend hours and hours on the phone with somebody who barely can speak or understand English
