Samsara Fleet

This software has become a distraction to our drivers. It gives false reduce speed warnings, reduce following distance warnings, hard event detected warnings, false seat belts alerts, etc It has become the very thing we, as a company, are trying to avoid. For instance, I was installing the system on one of our trucks and I moved the box out of my way on the floor board and the alarm went off, stating harsh event detected. Multiple times we have given thumbs down, comments, and explanations as to why the system or “AI” was wrong. Nothing has changed or updated. As a safety manager with about 35 trucks, I would not recommend this product to any company. Complaints: 1. It’s AI needs to be trained by the company that purchases it and yet we don’t get reimbursed for time spend training their system. 2. Is a distraction with constant false alarms of speeding. 3. Creates an attitude of mistrust with employee and employer relationship due to the constant false alarms and alerts. 4. Creates an environment of road rage when our employees slow down beyond the posted speed limit to shut the system up thus aggravating other drivers. 5. System does NOT recognize posted speed limit signs, attached seat belts or drivers that are alert but rather gives false alerts to slow down, fasten seat belts, take a break, etc. 6. Customer service reps have very think foreign accents that are difficult to understand. This product is not worth the distraction or the money.

We’ve only been using Samsara for a little over a week. The mobile app is very user-friendly, GPS locations load fast, almost immediately we like the view both on mobile and desktop, the loading time, the ease of the reports, the multitude of reports that we can get. The number of features Samara has is very beneficial. It all allows you to turn these features on or off depending on your needs. we have already recommended Samsara to another business.
