I donโt normally write reviews for games because I donโt usually have a need to, but this game makes me compelled to write a review. I got this game because I saw someone I followed on Instagram play a level, and I thought it was cool. Out of all the rhythm games I've ever played, none of them make me feel as awed and appreciated as Phigros does. This game is the first game that feels like it was made by rhythm gamers FOR rhythm gamers. The visuals made by the game elements are stunning. The songs are beautiful chosen and mapped. The challenge is super rewarding. Plus, I didn't have to pay over 100 dollars in order to play songs that I like. Also, despite how difficult so many songs are, thereโs not a single (at least, from what I can tell) map that forces me to use more than just two fingers. This game has brought back my spark for rhythm games, a spark that lets me enjoy songs for more than simply "I like this specific song". It's a wonderfully crafted game.
Iโm pretty new to the rhythm game scene but Phigros has to be one of the neatest rhythm games iโve ever played. It takes the scanline playstyle (similar to cytus) and flips that on its head. The scanline can be horizontal or vertical and the notes can come from any direction. On top of that, thereโs no IAPs at all. Thereโs a grip of songs under the singles category which can all be bought with the in game currency, which is known as bytes. There also seems to be a story involved, but itโs pretty vague. Progressing through chapters is pretty easy, achieve an A rank on a song to move onto the next one. However, in order to unlock the insane difficulties of songs, you need to achieve an S rank (920K) on easier difficulties, or achieve an A rank (880K) on IN difficulty prior to the song you want. Thereโs also a boss song which requires special steps to unlock. (Look it up on the wiki if you wanna know how to unlock it.) Overall, thereโs no reason not to check Phigros out. Itโs completely free and thereโs a wide variety of songs to play.
