I’ve been using Hipstamatic products since they first introduced the first Hipstamatic app. I still use the first combo I ever made. Some of my favorite images have been made using this app. I’ve also tried all of the Hipstamatic brand products that have come and gone over years. These guys have great ideas and they ALWAYS respond when you need help. They pay attention to feedback and address potential bugs. If you’re new to this, jump in and have fun. Finding new combinations is my favorite thing to do and sharing with my friends is another. They also have this new version of this app that is subscription based that gives you ALL of the films, lenses, flashes and cases. Of course I use that too and it’s great fun seeing what people are shooting all over the world. Worth every penny! I’m on a streak!

I paid for this app for unlimited use before they switched to the subscription model. I also paid for every Hipstapak that was ever released minus a few that I didn’t want. Now I need to pay for a subscription every month or year on top of that if I want to use all of the features again?! I spent so much money on this app already and I feel like I’m being ripped off being asked to pay even more after buying the app outright when it was offered. If an app is bought for unlimited use then it should be honored even if the app switches to the stupid subscription model. I should be able to go to Restore Purchases and be able to use all of the features, but no they want more money. Well it’s not going to happen. I will not pay for any subscriptions. I’m going to start a petition for users who bought apps for unlimited use and are now being asked to pay for a subscription to continue to use all the features of an app when we shouldn’t have to because we already paid for the app. I hope at least my favorite photo app Hipstamatic will at least consider honoring the paid app users by letting us click on Restore Purchases to continue using all the features of the app and not just the Hipstapaks we paid for. I gave this app five stars since I started using it, I would like to change it back to five stars when this is corrected.

I know there is this idea that we will just take photos with this app, but when you let me import a photo I like that I shot with Camera+ or something, and allow me to apply *your* camera presets to the photo, but don't let *me* apply the camera preset that *I* defined myself, I think I must be missing something. Either remove this edit feature entirely and demand we only take photos with our/your camera presets, or just finish the job and let me import something I composed and exposed in another camera application so I can apply my sweet framed tinto 1:1 preset so I can have some continuity in collections of images I share. 🤷🏻‍♂️ p.s. I'm paying the membership, but I don't think I will for much longer. I'd rather make my own preset in Lr or something like Snapseed. Between Google and Vsco having film simulations that are identifiable, the novelty of using "Kodiak Orca" or something wears off pretty fast.
