ClearCaptions Mobile

There are multiple FCC authorized providers of free captioning services. I chose this one originally because it was the least intrusive to my privacy. I should have done more research. Their setup and password recovery systems are entirely call based (which is odd for a company dedicated to ensure people who can’t hear have access to phones). They voicemail setup is entirely audio, as opposed to the system that Apple and presumably Google have been using on their phone apps for decades now. The app has an option for password recovery, but it doesn’t work. As stated previously that all has to be done over the phone. As a user, I knew more about the call forwarding process than tech support. Finally, they couldn’t understand or resolve why calls suddenly stopped coming through to me. I was willing to work with them right up until the moment I discovered they were “stealing” my voicemail messages. I had that happen to me before…I WON’T let it happen again! Even free this software if not worth it!

After my stroke, I was able to read & speak normally but I was unable to understand what people said on the phone, TV & Radio because of a receptive language aphasia disability. ClearCaptions allows me to call people and receive calls because I can read the transcription of the conversation. Life saving device. I highly Recommend Clear Captions to people that cannot understand conversations.

Fantastic application I used for many years on a desktop land line phone now as a mobile app. The same great service but now it allows those of us with a hearing problem the ability to have a dignified conversation . Helped restore my personal dignity and gives me freedom to talk on the phone. I had a problem with my carrier could not get through to fix a problem; in desperation I reached out to them to help with the carrier they cut through the red tape and helped me get a successful resolution. Cannot say enough good things about the application and the organization who are giving the deaf dignity and a better life
