Rogervoice - Call Captions

I have several specialists with heavy accents. And some still wear masks or don’t make eye contact. I have to have my husband go with me to each appointment. This app allows me to know what the dr is saying. And I can go back and look at his instruction. The summary just floored me. The only problem is when I use it on my iPhone, it disconnects my hearing aids. To reconnect the phonak app, I have to delete and reinstall it. It doesn’t disconnect me on my iPad. So I just use it on my iPad.

It’s a great app and the transcription is pretty solid, not perfect, but fast and mostly accurate. The only suggestion I have is that there be a setting to allow the “speaker phone” to be on by default. I think many people using this are hard of hearing, but not necessarily completely deaf. Just like close captioning on TV, to be able to hear the audio but I also see the words goes a really long way. My father who is older (90) and hard of hearing has a very difficult time remembering to hit the big + sign and then recognize the gray speaker icon and then remember to hit that icon so it turns green to then hear the sound of the other person. If there was a simple toggle where you can decide if the speaker is on by default or off by default, that would be great and it would get five stars! Thanks for all the work here!

This app is a great tool when it comes to speaking with people over the phone. In fact, this app helped me land a job since most of the interviews were through a phone with recruiter. Before this app, I had a tough time landing a job since it was difficult for me to speak with the recruiter unless it was an in-person interview. Note to point, the live captioning is not perfect and some transcripts can get lost in the conversation. But I believe the developers are hard at work in closing those gaps. There are a few bugs like any other app. I am hoping for the best to come out of this so we can speak to people over the phone with more confidence.
