Reviews: What People Think About EasyCode 2.0
Pointless endeavors
Rating: 1/5
This app has one function, and if it can’t accomplish that function, it is worthless. One would think that the developers would have been able to allow one to reset their password successfully as a matter of course, but I’ve been unable to accomplish this simple task even once. It appears to allow me to change it, but it fails immediately when I try to use it. Since there is no enduser tech support available (the storage sites are the customers, not the people who rent storage)there is no recourse other than to manually use the keypad at the entrance and exit. Again, completely worthless.

I’ve been using the app to enter my RV storage for over a year now. At first the app had a problem with location services constantly running as other reviews have mentioned, but I haven’t had a problem with it recently. At least, when I force close the app after using it I don’t continue to see location tracking running. But really this review is about the name and something that’s really annoying and not entirely their fault: Apple has a very annoying autocorrect feature that automatically corrects words that are similar to app names you have installed. I constantly have a problem with trying to type “20” and having it autocorrected to “2.0”. After many months of this and some annoying digging into how autocorrect works I discovered the App name “feature” and realized that this app is the only app I have with “2.0” in the name. I think at this point they could remove the 2.0 from the name as the update has been out for a while… I never even used the 1.0 app.

I have used easycode in the past and had no problems with it. Started using it again recently (apparently now 2.0) and have found it creates a permanent blue banner at the top of my iPhone home screen which I don’t like. Clicking (touching) the blue banner takes me directly to the app with no searching for the icon - which could be handy for some people but is not a priority for me. The blue banner will not go away - even if I log off the app - until I power off my phone. The app also apparently tracks my phone constantly even when I selected “Allow only when in use” - apparently even after I have logged out of the app. Also seems to eat up battery life like crazy even when I’m not using the app - this is probably a result of the constant tracking. My battery only lasts about a third as long as normal when the easycode app is running. The only way I can fully shut down the app and the tracking is to power the phone off/on. Very disconcerting!
