Thanks Beach he excellent app specially when you can translate it although and I tell husbands to watch out because now otherwise we’ll talk into the speaker and they better do with the wife wants if they don’t want to sleep in the garage ha ha is amazing especially when you can translate I was in an Uber and this is true the driver was Armenian and I couldn’t explain the directions so I talked into the Speechy in English and then I press the Arminian button he knew exactly what I meant and that’s it just amazing OK so I really love it and I recommended for everybody if you want to advertise and use my name or have we should be on television but your thing is if you talk slowly now if you have to go to Atlanta twilight zone or maybe it’s Alfred Hitchcock it’s called uncle Simon and when the Computer starts talking it talks slowly annunciates crisply and if you do that and talk slowly and enunciate Chrisley the t
I tested the app by loading a 20 minute recording of a speech. On the positive side, it transcribed the entire speech and allowed me to save the text and export it to another app (without a subscription). The price of $4.99 per month is unusually low. On the negative side, there were phrases in the recording that the program simply didn’t recognize, and instead of leaving markers for questionable text, it simply skipped the text and continued transcribing. The output file was one very long text file in a single paragraph with NO punctuation of any kind. Conclusion: In spite of the fact that it omits entire phrases it can’t recognize, this is clearly an app that should be considered when shopping for a speech-to-text app. By subscribing for one month, which I plan to do, there are features which may offset the negative aspects of the app. But the bottom line is that the user may try it out for free and get a true feel for whether it meets his or her specific needs.
The following review was written on the Speechy app with an iPad mini 2. No editing (a couple errors, I have an east coast accent, sue me LOL), just pure voice to text; Absolutely fantastic. I have tried it on an iPad mini 2, iPad Pro 11 inch, iPhone XR and in every instance it is absolutely stellar. I will say that the system seems to work a little better under iOS 13, most importantly the off-line mode. I tried the free version and within 20 minutes. It was worth every bit of the eight dollars and I look forward to using this for a long time to come. The voice recording is great, and I could see maybe using that on occasion, but I am a writer and I can put out 5000 words on a keyboard with about the same effort as putting out 8 to 10,000 words by voice. The speech recognition is quick and natural, and you can use speech commands to get your punctuation. I recommend this wonderful application to anybody looking for a simple and clean interface for dictation, without spending the money for Dragon which is obviousPayment by the hour, which is absolutely ridiculous at this day and age. Give the free version a shot, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Go pro if you plan on using it or you just don't want the advertisements, but if you dictate this is the best solution I have seen in ages. Also, it works great in the background while I have floating applications open such as Safari or notes. That alone makes it extremely useful for dictating while you are researching, such as when you are writing historical pieces or need technical information for In less than an hour I can already see that this will become a staple of my writing tool kit. Thank you, developers, you have really not one out of the park here.
