Dictation App-Dictate Anywhere

I love the Dictation App. I speak what I want to say and then edit my story. I have really enjoyed remembering my childhood stories, from my own thoughts.

I was looking forward to using this to dictate a book but unfortunately it seems pretty raw. The processing takes time so you can’t have a consistent flow of thought and have to pause for the computer to catch up. It doesn’t naturally recognize punctuation or grammar from the flow of your sentences so you have to go back and edit it, and if you speak the punctuation it will often add extra spaces. Some of the voice commands don’t work at all, such as “select that line”, “select that paragraph”, or “redo that.” It’s a good idea and it is free, but it’s honestly more time consuming to use than just typing it out to begin with.

If you were looking for an app to just do simple and straightforward dictation without all of the frills, this is it. Surprisingly accurate dictation, even for medical terms. More accurate than some of the expensive apps I have tried.
