This game is great and if your a fan of rougelikes than you need to play this. The whole game is very responsive and the pixel art is good. Each character feels unique and different and the grind to get each character to five stars doesn’t overstate its welcome. Each boss feels unique even if the early floor bosses are kinda bland. Each run is very short which is good in my books. Some recommendations for the Devs though: the grind for 10 stars is way, way to long it took me around 2-3 hours to get a character to 10 stars. That grind wouldn’t be that bad if you could play more than just that one character but it feels like you are locked into that character because the upgrades are so enticing. Also I feel like there should be some sort of secret levels, the abyss is nice but after a while it gets boring just like the regular dungeon. Some sort of secret level or boss or final boss would be great. Also I would love to see a buff to soul hunter, he is really fun but he kinda lacks in boss fights and his damage can fall of really fast. If the devs read this I hope they know the made a great game that genuinely slaps. Thank you!
I love this game. So much. I got into it last year, and since then, I am still playing it, which is a rare occurrence. From its charming pixel graphics, to its stellar gameplay, this game fills that hole of a dungeon crawler on my mobile device. I’ve played many other mobile Dungeon Crawlers or rogue-likes that have felt clunky, or hard to control, and this game felt instantly like a glove. On top of this there are so many wonderful characters and play-styles, as well as more than enough content to keep you busy for a while. The haptics, and music, are wonderful as well. And the skins are very cool. So are the many enemies and bosses. I even like the ads because they are an easy way to get an extra life! My only wish is that there were more characters, or secret characters like in Nuclear Throne, because I love collecting them(there are plenty characters though, this does not take away from the game at all). Anyways, this is a great game. 10/10. Give it a go! You won’t regret it. JUST FOUND OUT THEY MADE GUIDUS ZERO ON STEAM AND AM SO HYPE TO PLAY
Guidus is amazing for mobile game standards, it does not shove in app purchases in your face and the gameplay is simple to learn and get used to. It is more of a rougelite than a rougelike, with some upgrades and abilities being permanent. Every game comes with some problems though, and I need to state that leveling up in this game is a tedious process. The price of leveling up a character is absurd. It would be much nicer if you gained 1 XP per floor and the amount of xp required was slightly increased so you could save coins for higher tier characters. You can get XP for free by watching an add, but you can only claim that XP every 2 or so hours. Another problem I’ve had with the game is the dungeon design. Sometimes, the floors have impossibly hard areas to get through, practically requiring you to get hit in order to progress. Sometimes, they get so small that you have to pray that you don’t get cornered and get hit. I can understand each room getting harder each level, but don’t make the difficulty feel randomized, it doesn’t fit with the progression. I also don’t like how some abilities are hidden with question marks. Instead of strategizing if you should take this item or not, you just have to pray to the gods you get an item that can be of use for you. I know that there is a banning system to help alleviate this, but the price of bans are way too steep for it to be fair. TLDR; great rouge-lite game, just has very grindy XP system, and heavily RNG based mechanics.
