BeerTasting

I got the beer advent calendar and saw this app linked to it on the box. I read all the app reviews and prepared myself for immense frustration and to delete it the next day. To my surprise, everything works fine! They must have fixed the 2021 issues. Or maybe it’s OS related - I’m on an iPhone 11. Anyway, no complaints here. Not an overly impressive app, but it definitely serves its purpose effectively without issue. Camera works to scan barcode, ratings work, social feed works. All seems fine to me!

I received the German beer advent calendar as a gift, and it’s one of my favorite gifts I’ve ever received. The app it’s paired with doesn’t work at all though, which is a shame, because it’s a neat concept. The QR codes on the cans can’t be picked up by the app, and when I use my phone camera, the webpage they link to is broken. The label scanner on the app is slow and clunky and has found the correct beer 1 time out of 9 so far; it’s easier and more informative to just Google it. None of the other features seem to work or have any purpose either. Seems like they started developing this app, never finished it, and abandoned it. It’s an empty shell. I deleted it after I finished this evening’s beer. RIP

I was given a beer advent calendar and this app was advertised all over the outside to offer additional information on the beers and to be able to rate your experience with the beers. I was initially pretty excited to give it a try. The registration process is so riddled with issues I haven’t even been able to experience the other issues mentioned in reviews. I wish I could give 0 stars to this app, it’s been a huge disappointment and a waste of 10 minutes. I won’t waste anymore time trying to get this clearly broken app to work. If the developers don’t care, why should anyone else?
