This app is worth every penny. Seriously if you have a newer BMW and you don’t have this app snd an Obd cx then WHAT PLANET are you living on??? There are so many things you can do with this app it’s crazy from changing interior lights ADDING DRIVING MODES cough:; sport +:: cough on cars that BMW gets to decide for us that it would be too much fun to let them use sports + so we’re gonna turn off … not in my house!!! I do what I want with MY vehicle won’t be hindered by what bmw thinks is proper for my 3 series. Plus adding sports + mode made the 330i a keeper among all the other parts I’ve added … get this app stop living under a rock and enjoy. Better know German though because it won’t change to English in expert mode is my only real negative criticism of the app … not enough to mske this app lose a star though. Stop reading my stupid post and download the app you are gonna love it
Im using this with the OBD MX+ with an iPhone in iOS 13. The app has been great for making some minor, but crucial changes to the MINI. Turning off the seatbelt reminders, enabling “Always On” digital speed display, modifying the ‘Comfort Access’ settings and so on. •—• There is however one big issue I have consistently had. If I use BimmerCode to change ANY of the Footwell Module (that controls a number of things like Check Control, and in this case lighting) settings, I somehow disable the primary two brake lights. By modifying in any way the DRL, even changing the hazard flash settings to ‘double flash’ - then the two primary brake lights - so the left & right brake lights no longer operate with the use of the brakes. To elaborate, if Footwell module settings are modified seeming any amount, even seemingly irrelevant settings, then the L & R rear lights will ONLY operate as running lights. When the brake is applied only the third brake light - the top, center brake light - will engage. The two, L& R lights will maintain their normal brightness. This is really annoying and on 3 occasions took another driver (all MINI drivers funny enough) notifying me of this to find out. •—• To the developers: Please, please, please go through and do a translate to English on the ‘Expert’ settings features! I have gone through and translated many of them, but there are a bunch, and of course I cannot save my translations, so I need to revert back to a MS Word document to look up translations! For the most part BimmerCode is a very cool app with a ton of potential. The one issue I had, while a pretty big one, still wouldn’t change my decision to use the app. I definitely recommend BimmerCode as well as BimmerLink for diagnostic, temperature monitoring, check engine light resets & Error Memory reporting. I look forward to the future updates the developers come out with!
I have had an iPhone ever since the 3GS and this is the first review I have ever felt a need to write. This app is awesome... I used to have a Pontiac G8 which are made in Australia and I remember looking with a buddy on how to remove the video in motion limit... A company out of Australia wanted 400 bucks for the unit to disable it and then you had to send the thing back... For my BMW I paid 20 bucks for the OBD sensor and 27 bucks for this app and I have already coded about 8 things for my car.... Heck I would have paid 27 bucks just to get rid of the annoying nag screen you get when you start the car before you can change the radio station.... Worth every penny!! Thanks for the great app!!! PS the Carly device and app are a rip off!!
