My husband and I were attempting to find a video camera baby monitor without paying over $100 (baby items are highly over priced, aren’t they?!). My husband found this camera, and after reading the reviews of people using it as a baby monitor we decided to give it a go. Boy does this thing work great! And for such a great price! The night vision is very clear and easy to see, while the monitor does not light up the room it is in and therefore the baby is undisturbed. The camera includes a motion sensor, and you are able to adjust the sensitivity so that you are notified every time your baby moves. You can also record and take pictures of the feed. In case you’re unable to run into the nursery right away, there is also a button you can press and hold so that you can talk to your baby and soothe them while you are busy. Multiple people can stream the feed, so both my husband and I can monitor our baby on each of our phones while he sleeps. The two slight downsides to this camera is that it requires a WiFi connection, and it is not battery operated (USB cord must be connected at all times). So if you take the camera on vacation with you, the vacation spot must have WiFi and an outlet in order for it to work (therefore it will not work in a camping scenario). Other than that, this camera is a perfect, budget friendly, camera to use as a baby monitor. I have recommended it to Luther parents who are happy with it as well. Highly recommended!

I ordered these after my baby monitor crapped out after a year of using it! I did a lot of research, read a lot of reviews and testimonials and decided on this brand of camera to use as a baby monitor. That being said, I KNOW the intent of these cameras are not baby monitors- they’re security cameras! So their set up is quite different than a baby monitor would be. However, the night vision is incredible, you get a WIDE angle shot from wherever you station the camera, you can take pictures (and video if you have an SD card), you can log in and watch if you have a babysitter for the night, and you can adjust the alert settings to be notified when there are noises and/or movement in your child’s room. All things that we wanted and love! I do sleep with the camera pulled up on my app, and I keep it plugged it so it doesn’t die. I also keep my volume up so that if my phone does “fall asleep” or anything like that, if something were going on in my baby’s room I would wake up from the alert notifications! My son is also 18 months old- this is NOT something I would recommend to use with a newborn, because you need to have a much higher quality of sound and reliability of the video coming through without your phone falling asleep. So, there ya have it, folks!

Overall I don’t have many complaints with this camera. Setting up the camera wasn’t too bad actually and I am not that tech savvy. Only annoying problem was having to separate the WiFi from 5G to 2.5G and 5G. Because the camera only works on 2.5G. I initially bought this camera to monitor outside my apartment. I know this isn’t an outdoor camera; however, I was hoping to face it outside the window, for package safety and mainly intruders. (We did have someone try to break into the apartment, which is the primary reason I bought the camera). The leasing office said we weren’t allowed to have cameras outside but could have one inside facing outdoors. This camera is great during the day to face outdoors and even indoors. But at night facing outdoors, we have severe glare in our camera. Not sure if it’s because of the night vision and the window reflections? Maybe this could be something they fix in the future? The night vision inside the home though works great! I decided to just keep the camera for the house to watch over the kitchen and living room and I really don’t have any complaints for that matter. I guess except there can be a lag at times, for at most 20 seconds, which isn’t terrible because I can just go back and replay the footage. Otherwise the app and the camera do its job. I also love that it has a 2 way talking feature, you can move the camera around to get a better view of things, and can even zoom in! That has definitely come in handy at times especially when maintenance is in the apartment.
