Hipstamatic® Analog Camera

I’ve been using Hipstamatic products since they first introduced the first Hipstamatic app. I still use the first combo I ever made. Some of my favorite images have been made using this app. I’ve also tried all of the Hipstamatic brand products that have come and gone over years. These guys have great ideas and they ALWAYS respond when you need help. They pay attention to feedback and address potential bugs. If you’re new to this, jump in and have fun. Finding new combinations is my favorite thing to do and sharing with my friends is another. They also have this new version of this app that is subscription based that gives you ALL of the films, lenses, flashes and cases. Of course I use that too and it’s great fun seeing what people are shooting all over the world. Worth every penny! I’m on a streak!

I paid for this app for unlimited use before they switched to the subscription model. I also paid for every Hipstapak that was ever released minus a few that I didn’t want. Now I need to pay for a subscription every month or year on top of that if I want to use all of the features again?! I spent so much money on this app already and I feel like I’m being ripped off being asked to pay even more after buying the app outright when it was offered. If an app is bought for unlimited use then it should be honored even if the app switches to the stupid subscription model. I should be able to go to Restore Purchases and be able to use all of the features, but no they want more money. Well it’s not going to happen. I will not pay for any subscriptions. I’m going to start a petition for users who bought apps for unlimited use and are now being asked to pay for a subscription to continue to use all the features of an app when we shouldn’t have to because we already paid for the app. I hope at least my favorite photo app Hipstamatic will at least consider honoring the paid app users by letting us click on Restore Purchases to continue using all the features of the app and not just the Hipstapaks we paid for. I gave this app five stars since I started using it, I would like to change it back to five stars when this is corrected.

I gave this app a crappy review (see below) and stopped using it. Today I opened it up and found a fun, polished app! The user experience is much improved. I started having a great time putting together new cameras and seeing quality colors and filters you expect from Hipstamatic. Now this app and the original Hipstamatic app are the two best photo apps in the store. Overall a big improvement. Great work! . . . . . . . . I am a longtime user of the original Hipstamatic, and I have seriously said at times that this app is the only reason to use an iPhone. I have spent enough money to get 88 films, and many lenses. So I didn’t hesitate in buying the lifetime membership for this new app at the sale price. I don’t so much feel like I was ripped off monetarily, but I think I was ripped off creatively. Functionally this app does the same thing as the previous 355 app. You just pick the body/lens/film combos in different ways. New post-shot filter-adding options are available. This takes the scope of the app way beyond the original, which you may like. It’s a matter of opinion. I don’t like it so much—I find its “UI” is messy and doesn’t hold together from one step to the next, and why do I need another app that lets you add filters after you take the shot? Luckily you can still use the original Hipstamatic 355. If you like that app, take a good look at this one before you spend the money. I’m not going to call it a money-grab; I don’t think it is. I’m OK supporting this developer but I think they are better than this app
