So there you are, you can’t sleep and there’s a bag of laundry behind the door. You gotta get it done you’ve run out of socks and underwear, T-shirts are getting low and towels towels forget about it you know you like clean crisp towels every day because you’re a shower freak one in the morning one in the evening like to keep it clean plus we got a great shower lotta beautiful pressure strong adjustable pressure plenty of hot water, nonstop New York City Plumbing the best on the planet so you decided and since you can’t sleep, it’s 1 o’clock in the morning you figure all right let’s get the laundry out of the way, but the card is low. How are you gonna run the machine without enough money on the card here’s the answer no problem you hit the app you load it up in your slippers in a bathrobe no more Lobby no more vending machine no more Elevator. Just on the phone the magic of technology aim that thing watch those circles reciprocate graphically push that button and there it goes 38 minutes away from heaven.

It works seamlessly with ApplePay, and once you get past the quirks of getting your phone and a compatible laundry machine talking to each other slowly via Bluetooth this app just makes paying for laundry so easy. That said… I don’t know if the following are problems with the app, with the machines in my building (or in general), or with the machines’ network connections…. or some combination of any/all of those. (1) the app simply cannot figure out when my building’s machines are in use. That means I still need to go to the laundry room are available instead of checking before I go. (2) this may be mostly the washing machines, but the app regularly notifies me my cycles are done about five minutes s too early. (3) this however is 100% the app. I keep getting notifications that the app requires an update. It never needs a software update. Opening the app does nothing and indicates nothing that could be wrong. And my trending balance (which isn’t currently being spent) is fine. The app thinks there are problems when none exist. It’s irritating that it happens a couple times a week, but no more than irritating. None of these issues come close to breaking the app tho. By all means, use it if you can.

I really wanted to give this 5 stars but honestly don’t waste your time using the app. Stick with card if you can. First off it doesn’t tell you when the washers/dryers are in use.. Secondly doesn’t let you how much time is left on your washers/dryers. I selected to have the app notify me when my washers/dryers are done and it doesn’t do that. Lastly it seems as though when other floors are using their washers/dryers and you try to start your with your phone their is always a connection issue. Literally this morning I started my washers and one dryer and when I was trying to start the other dryer it’s a connection issue saying “unable to connect or machine not found”. I’ve been standing in the same spot just trying to start everything at once. This particular problem is an every week thing like come on. The purpose of using the app is so that I don’t have to walk downstairs to find out if someone is using the machines and so I don’t have to walk downstairs to refill a card which I had too this morning in other to finish my laundry. Honestly we could’ve just stayed with the cards since we keep having to revert back every time the app doesn’t work. I sent two service request this morning also.
