Love the ability to program with pats. But some basic functions are missing. LIN int, BMS reset, power balance , & misfire neutral rest. Could really use a 360 camera relearn and IPMA alignment function. Don’t let this die off as another prototype half baked idea.

So I bought the VCM Lite as a cheaper route than purchasing IDS license. Also VCM3’s are on back order. Reading through the rotunda site seemed like this was a powerful little tool. Which it is. However, what they do not tell you is, there is a model year restriction. I have an 09 F-250 that I’m needing to diag. The app states that no data is available for this model year. Connect to a 10 model, and bam it works just fine. Tried tricking the system by inputting the 2010 VIN in for the 09 truck. It automatically reads the 09 VIN, and will not let you proceed. I’ve talked with rotunda about the issue. They state that there is no model year restriction, but advise me that they do get calls everyday for the same concern. Long story short, $540 for the VCM Lite, and $145 subscription for their service, and this thing doesn’t work on all model years. So I’m out almost $700 for something that’s not going to fully benefit me. I hope this helps someone before they decide to make the same mistake that I did. I did my research before purchasing, but never found any model year restrictions. Even Ford can’t determine there are. Hopefully they will patch in an update to take care of this concern. The product does work flawlessly on anything 2010, and newer.

So far I like it, wish it could do more…it is a lot faster than IDS/FDRS also much more convenient than carrying a laptop and bunch of cords 500ft out into the parking lot for a no crank issue or something. Had some log in issues for awhile would either crash or just take forever. Was going to give 3 stars but doing 4 seeing as it’s a new product and will probably be getting improvements. Hopefully one of the updates fixes the log in issues, also heard from an FSE they are likely going to be adding PATS programming in the near future. Definitely worth the $300 for the VCM lite even with its limited functions.
