On September 1st, 2025, I booked a ferry from Sorrento to Capri and back through Ferryhopper for a 9:55 AM departure. The experience was a complete disaster. No ferry arrived at the scheduled time, and after waiting 30 minutes under the sun, I was told by Alilauro staff there was no 9:55 AM ferry—information I was never notified about. This left me and my husband stranded and unwell from the heat. To make matters worse, Alilauro staff laughed at me for having online tickets booked via Ferryhopper, which was humiliating. When I contacted Ferryhopper for a refund, they claimed the ferry operator denied it, stating the tickets were "used" and the trip operated—completely false, as no 9:55 AM ferry existed. Ferryhopper then deflected responsibility, telling me to deal directly with Alilauro, who in turn directed me back to Ferryhopper. This back-and-forth is unacceptable for a booking platform. As a third-party service, Ferryhopper failed to advocate for me or ensure clear communication from the operator. Their customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful, leaving me out of pocket and frustrated. I strongly advise against using Ferryhopper—book directly with ferry operators to avoid such chaos and poor support.
This app was fantastic for Croatia ferries to the islands because it has ALL the ferry lines from one port to the next port in departure time order, and gives arrival times too. It also shows the prices up front, and from what I can tell charges the same price as going to the individual ferry line websites. Buying a ticket took just two minutes — I bought two tickets while running for a ferry!
I booked tickets for a ferry from Corfu to Sarandë for hours after my flight would land but my flight ended up being delayed so I contacted support to change the tickets. I was told that they would contact the ferry company and try to change to the next day for me and that I would receive an email update. Hours later I never received an email update so I went back to the chat, I could see that the person who helped me was online within the last 15 minutes so I went ahead and asked if there was any update. I saw that they read my message, I went out of the app to check my email to come back to see that the chat was no longer there. The employee must have deleted. The integrity of their support employees is really questionable so much that I don’t want to use the app ever again. I was able to call the ferry company myself once in Greece from the hotel phone and they changed it no problem.
