E.ON Home – Solar, EV & More

An E-On engineer came to install my EV charger and asked whether I had downloaded and registered on the app beforehand. I hadn’t—E-On had only sent me the appointment details, nothing else. During the installation, the engineer arranged for a registration link to be emailed to me. I downloaded the app using that link, but there was no option to register for an account. The engineer then used his tablet to access a registration form, which I completed, and everything seemed to be working—until I tried logging in. The app didn’t recognise my login details and kept prompting me to change my password. After five password resets, I finally tried accessing it via my laptop, and it worked first time. On my iPhone, however, the app either failed to load altogether or still wouldn’t let me log in. What’s the point of having an app that either doesn’t open or refuses to recognise who you are? It’s absolutely pointless and incredibly frustrating.

This App is useful and shows your electricity generation and usage. To get 5 stars it should include the last refresh time of the data to make it clearer just what it is showing you. Other apps do this and refresh every 10 secs to make it more informative.

Finally an app to show your spend………. But considering you are taking readings every 30 minutes why oh why do we have to wait over 24hrs for the data to appear in the App. Very poor compute power springs to mind. All the other app insights are actually really good. Take it from someone who’s had a smart meter for years we don’t look at it like we look at our phones and therefore please get with the times and get near real time data in the app!!! Please
