I really like the app, love that you can save bars to create your own bar tour - it’s also great that you can send feedback on the bars through the app! I found it really easy to use and LOVED london cocktail week this year!!
This app is so disappointing, and if I didn’t have to use it during London Cocktail Week as my pass, I wouldn’t. It doesn’t work offline (a MAJOR issue when you’re in basement bars all week, which I’ve reported for years and nothing has changed). You have to click through every pinpoint and then X out, and then do it again to figure out where you want to go. It also takes ages for the map to load even when you do have service. The printed books that they had years ago were so quick and easy to use and well illustrated. Please bring them back (I would even pay for one!) because this app is so tedious that it makes me not want to participate in these events anymore.
The app is a HUGE let down! I have voiced my concerns for the past two years but there doesn't seem to be any acknowledgment of improving the app. The booklet was excellent - sectioned by area, accompanied by easy to follow symbols showing who is offering a wine flight and detailed maps. The app however, is clunky and like the reviews below, require a lot of personal data, which I'd rather not give and does nothing to enhance the experience. My main gripe, is if you want to find which bars offer a wine flight you have to click on the bar itself, then scroll down to view the offers - you have to repeat these steps until you've found a bar with this offer. Also, the whole point of London Wine Week is finding the bars/restaurants with offers and promotions - to find this, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the app, as the first half if full of articles based on things such as 'the best cocktails' - but I'm here for wine?! I could go on... Essentially, the company should stick to what they do best, which is the booklet. They're not digitally savy and currently do not have budget (so it seems) to create a more sophisticated app. The app drains your battery and can someone tell me what you're suppose to do if your battery dies?!
