Alongside lacking basic functionality, there are some essential things that app now doesn’t allow me to do, and several UX design flaws so gaping that it’s incredible that this is legal. For example: No way to order my repeat prescription. Just a screen that says they’re too busy for a consultation. Even though this should be an automatic thing, I order it the same day every month, manually, nothing has changed. Just let me automate it. No confirmation that my prescription has been ordered if I do manage to get through the busy phone line that is the internet. Several times I have gone through the “order prescription” process multiple times, assuming I must’ve cancelled it when I got to the final screen and had to hit “back” “back” “back” “back” “yes I’m sure I want to cancel” to escape. What? This is why people pay teams of professional, expensive UX designers and developers to work on these kinds of apps, instead of someone’s 17 year old cousin or some outsourced agency halfway across the world who’ve only been commissioned for 15 minutes of development work per month to maintain it. Please invest in this properly, integrate with AccuRX to allow notifications that eg I have made a prescription request, then later that it has been acknowledged. Maybe there’s a real app out there you can white label. Anything but this.
The medication look-up (for non-prescription requests) returns no results, no matter what medication I type. There should at least be a manual entry option here too. It blocked me from ordering my medication, and I’ve had to go through the consultation route instead, wasting resources. When I order repeat prescription medication, the app says it has been ordered - but there is no evidence of this in my medication lists or notifications. Once the modal is gone, there’s no record of it. On top of this, sometimes the requests do not appear to go through. I have gone to my pharmacy 2-3 days after my request to get my asthma inhaler, and almost every time it is not there and I have to order it again. This is very upsetting because I’m worried about being able to breathe. I dread to think what my experience of this app would be like as an elderly person or a person with disabilities or impairments. The UX and UI of this app needs a general overhaul, especially with regards to accessibility standards (there is no way it meets even WCAG AA). Text is too small, icons are misused, colours have insufficient contrast. Some of its button action patterns are bizarre, and the error messages don’t help you. To top it off, the feedback section throws an error (with no explanation) and won’t accept feedback - which is why I’m writing here instead!
The app allows you to give you for your information about your symptoms and treatment et cetera and ask questions. You can only register enquiry call Christian women on the self so if there’s no one to do that particular thing on that day like over the weekend, you can’t even a question appointment for the following days. But if there’s nobody there at the surgery to answer the question about skin problems or back problems whatever on that day it’s fairly useless. The language is simple easy to understand. But it could do with more options to give more nuanced answers more than just yes / no.
