Doodle is the best online education app I have been on as it gives you questions based on how well you’re doing in the specific subject it’s also good because your teacher can track a progress and set assignments for you based on what you’re doing in school It gives you your privacy with a simple password and pin the password and pin also easy to remember and that’s pretty nice When you do assignments, you normally can get to say how easy you find the topic and I’ll give you questions based on that and help you and that always has a little help button unless you’re doing a test The one thing I would like is when you finish a question or the whole thing you can go back and just redo the answer not if you get it wrong, but if you get it right just so that you’re clear And that would be really nice
I bought this app as my son’s school used it and he enjoyed his homework. I thought my daughters would benefit too. The app advertises itself as finding the child’s levels and then teaching the weaknesses. This isn’t true though. It performs assessments- some are near impossible on the app (the font size in the comprehension isn’t useable and the magnifying glass is awful. I couldn’t do it. Maybe it looks better on a laptop. The questions don’t give the option of selecting that lesson - ie child has no idea what an adverb is, I expected that to be an automatic lesson or break out screen. But no. The child is stuck in the assessment unable to get out until everything is correct. Demoralising. Child is having a panic attack. I’ve got the connect app and there is no suggestions of what assignments to set for the weaknesses and I have no idea if the child gains stars from the assignments as there’s not much info on how to use the parent app. My child already hates it which is a shame. I really wanted something fun and supportive but I don’t think this is dyslexia friendly at all. Her working memory is poor and breakouts of concepts would be really handy and breaking up the relentless questions with actual lessons automatically would make sense. If her baseline identifies her weaknesses the lessons / refreshers, could automatically go in before the next set of assessments.
We use all 4 Doodles and generally like it very much-but we are really disappointed with rewards options. There is nothing to spend stars on, hence motivation to earn them via learning is not great. The best one was Travel on Doodle English but there hasn’t been update for over a year now. Next one was Wizard and mixing potions was quite a fun. Same as with Travel: no updates for a looooong time. Robot and Panda are rather boring (we’ve purchased all we could for Panda but “shopping” is a bit pointless and lacks educational vibe that Travel has). Please Doodle team- update it and keep updating.
