I paid £10 for a Carers Card after it was presented as a worthwhile way for carers to save money. The standard card cost £8, but while registering and preparing to pay, I was offered an extended membership for £10. Unfortunately, I have found it extremely disappointing and regret purchasing it. The offers do not appear to provide meaningful additional value. Many simply reproduce public voucher codes, affiliate offers and discounted gift-card schemes already available through free services, shopping browser extensions or other discount websites. In effect, members are paying to receive advertising and referral offers for other businesses. The card provider may also benefit when members follow these links or make purchases, despite charging carers for access in the first place. If the advertised “carer-exclusive savings” largely reproduce offers readily available elsewhere, then even the standard £8 membership has little genuine value. The fee isn’t enormous, but charging carers to access supposedly special savings that can be obtained free elsewhere is particularly irritating—especially when Discounts for Carers itself is completely free. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend paying for this card. Before purchasing, I would advise carers to compare its advertised offers carefully with those already available through free discount services.
had a look at the website for this app and thought it was perfect, i could use my persons PIP to verify and it would be amazing. i ordered the card because of this, weve been going out on a few outtings so it was perfect for us. when i downloaded the app there was no option to add any paper work and when i finally found it there wasnt an option to add PIP. i contacted the bot system as i was very confused and in return i recieved what felt like riddles. absolute waste of money, dont bother.
Really good app. Allowed me to create an emergency plan and create a circle of care for my loved one.
