I am a female who has been seeking to heal for a solid 25 years. My quest for peace has encompassed everything from reiki and shamanism to structural integration and craniosacral therapy. I’ve made integration of the whole human my personal and professional holy grail. I’ve had fabulous meditation teachers. Brilliant mentors. Supportive communities. But I was never able to bridge the gap between my mind and my body. My spirit and my body. My spirit and my mind. You get the picture. I’ve been a collection of well developed disparate parts. Breathwork, this breathwork, is shifting that for me. More movement in a month of this work than in two plus decades of endless books, workshops, trainings and podcasts. If you are seeking, truly seeking, you cannot go wrong in trying this one out.
I’ve used yoga, meditation, EMDR and other therapies to manage stress and find focus so I was pretty sure that I knew how to breathe, lol. Then I signed up for a guided group breathwork session with Iona - and it was literally life-changing. So I’m elated to have Soul in my pocket. It’s beautifully designed, easy to use whenever and wherever. I like to take notes after each session so I’m loving the journal feature. And I especially appreciate Iona’s relatable, human approach. Recommending the Soul app if you want to accelerate inner work, support a mindfulness practice, improve your mood, calm anxious feelings or get focused on a creative project.
Iona’s guided breathworks became the first form of what I would call meditation that worked for me. The list of attempts I made to meditate and get out of my mind and into my body were unending, and with no practical results, because I could not shut off my anxious mind to experience the benefit. Often, I couldn’t even manage the ability to finish my attempt! These Soul breathworks were different. I could not believe how I felt after my very first breathwork session. I have to give myself so much credit for not giving up until I found something that was transformative; but also, I give so much credit to Iona and the sessions available on the Soul app. It’s a gift, it’s honestly priceless, but I’m so glad it’s available for others to receive, because I know it can change their lives, too.
