Barkio: Dog Monitor & Pet Cam

I’m a single dog mom who works full-time with a miniature pinscher (3) and a border collie jack Russel mix (14). I usually don’t leave them home alone for more than 5 hours at a time. This is so helpful because I can use my tablet at home as a dog cam which helps me monitor them. You can show your face to them, talk, and pre-record commands. While watching them you can tap your pre-recorded commands like, “lay down” or record their name to call them first to get their attention. It’s currently only $6.99/mo or $50/year. I decided to choose the monthly option for my first month but I may switch to the yearly option next month.

We got Barkio soon after we got our puppy. So from the beginning is been a part of our puppy journey. We use Barkio premium so we’re able to “FaceTime” with her, use the pre recorded commands -which are helpful when you’re out and about and can’t yell at your dog through the phone. Lol The notifications you consistently get when your dog is loud, moving around and even wakes up! You can even flip the camera (front or back) if your dog starts roaming around. A bonus for us is you can monitor from multiple devices at the same time AND set up multiple devices that use the camera.

Downloaded this app for our 3 month old puppy who has to stay crated every other week. It’s really helped my peace of mind knowing he is ok when I’m not there. Turns out, my imagination was way worse than reality :) Today it saved the day! I got multiple notifications that puppy was noisy so I pulled up the app just to find an empty crate with the door wide open! he had opened his crate door and was loose in the house!! Thankfully our neighbors have a key and work from home and went and rescued my house from my puppy! Without the app I would not have known until I went home for lunch! So this was well worth the money! The only odd thing which isn’t really a big deal is it won’t update the latest update. It prompts me in the app but when I go to the App Store it just says “open” won’t update. But the app works like it’s supposed to and for that I’m thankful.
