ASUS GlideX

Honestly, I thought this app was useless when I first saw it, but I had been in search of a second monitor to use for a few devices, when I came across an article that suggested using the iPad as one, and since I already had this app… It works pretty well! I can mirror games from my Ally on this, and they run without any noticeable lag or stuttering. Plus, with the iPad being a touchscreen, it has more function than a regular portable monitor. I haven’t used many of the other features, but this alone has made it worthwhile for me.

Not really a review kind of person but I was happy to be offered this mirror app offered by my laptop brand! I have been searching high and low for a good working one so I can make my iPad my 3rd monitor as well as be able to draw with my apple pencil using windows software, I was happy to be gifted pro threw the coupon available with MyAsus. Very little lag and best streaming quality I have seen Windows to IOS. This app has done nothing but exceed my expectations and even as someone who’s not the most tech savvy, everything was extremely user friendly! Even without the coupon I would have purchased the Pro subscription because of the extremely affordable price of $6 max for the most expensive bundle, I highly recommend this to anyone with an ASUS device pairing with IOS. Thanks so much for offering this with my laptop, truly appreciated!

I got a notification on my ROG g14 that this software was available for screen extension. I tried it out but I couldn’t try the Ultra even after watching ads. So I can’t say how good it is. I’d try it for free but there is no Ultra trial, and it costs a lot. I thought it would be free, as a selling point for ASUS laptops just like sidecar is a selling point for apple. Otherwise there are things like Duet that cost but at least there isn’t subscription. The GlideX free version is too grainy to really be useable-not really good enough to be a customer hook because even basic users will find that to be too low res. Medium tier is better but still to grainy for a paid version. A free version should be the minimum viable product and extra features are paid - otherwise theres no point having a free version at all. Multiple devices can be on paid. Right now it is below minimum standard for a single device. I give it a generous 4 stars because it has potential and seems to work smoothly for the 5 minute test window and I expect that Ultra is better, but I can’t be sure. I wish I could try Ultra to actually test the latency. Docked one star because it should seriously be free for a single device on Ultra! Like we need one useable option. If you make it free then you will make people buy ASUS laptops! I would buy ASUS for my next laptop if you make it FrEE!
