First, phone numbers do not support +1 so if you have an American number forget about it. Second, why would you need a phone number? You already verified my email address just use that. Lastly, I keep my phone plan off to avoid roaming charges. I can’t verify a phone number via text. Just send me an email like you already do and call it a day.

It’s pretty telling that even though they have know of this issue for years now, they have yet to resolve the issue with American numbers. Why do I even need an account to buy a ticket? No other travel app or website in the country of Italy (that I’ve used) requires this. The number they have for app support does not work and the email is non-responsive other than the automatic reply. If you have a US phone number and find yourself in a situation where you need to use an Arriva bus, go to any tabacco shop in the area and they will be able to sell you a ticket.

The app is advertised at the bus stops but it does not work, you have to sign up but during the process, the app should send you a text message which you would never receive turning the app useless. You are better off paying for the bus when you get in but make sure you bring cash, the cards usually won’t work or won’t be accepted.
