Don’t get this for bass guitar. Horrible. I only give it 3 stars cause it has a couple good amps. But can’t dial in a good tone. Go with the Peavey AmpKit. Beautiful sounds, easy to obtain. You don’t have to work and work to get what you might consider to be a bass guitar. Don’t waist your time. I have purchased each interface they offer. From the lip stick tube to the HD version. The HD version don’t get me started. I wish I could get a refund for all Ive I bought. I given them all kinds of money and have a phone and iPad full of an unusable app. Not including all of the in-app purchases I made. I just dropped it another star. After thinking of all the money that be spent. I work third shift so it limits my practice time at home. So I purchased this with the hopes of being able to practice and possibly write a bit since I have the 8 tracks to record on, the looper to creates loops on. Also, the extra drum loops. Before this is brought up. I’ve tried different bass guitars. Active, passive, active with a passive switch. Different pickup configurations. I only hope the creators at IK read this and take note. I was bragging to everyone about how innovative and musician friendly company this must be to take into to consideration the many musicians that could possibly benefit from this. I was going to purchase all you guys offered. But then I tried,tried,tried, tried,tried........goes on and on. Purchase other amp models just hoping that was what I was missing. Nope. Totally disappointed. Sad emoji face.

Over a year ago when I first bought the iRig and downloaded the free Amplitude I couldn't be more happy with such a compact, instrument training tool. Somewhere along the multitude of updates this is basically no longer a worthy training tool. If you try to playback an imported song with effects it will trash the playback so bad it is unbearable. Basically, if you want to learn a song without any affects added to it, forget it! Even with the 4-track upgrade you cannot run the playback through one channel (w/o effects) and the guitar through another (w/ effects). It is all or nothing and the playback takes presedence on any other level tweaking attempts. It will still work as a training tool if you run the output to powered speakers or an amp and play your instrument through a separate device/amp. Combining the two will only add frustration to your life. The point of purchasing this was the ability to connect headphones and not disturb the neighbors. Tech support is unable to help me resolve the issue. I have purchased updates and effects over the past year and now have nothing more than a portable amp that I don't need. If you are looking for a guitar training tool, move on and find another device. Also, beware of the updates that are forced down your throat. I have no desire to have a Midi option. This should be a selectable add-on like the many other add on's or a stand alone product. Since the introduction of the Midi it has degraded the audio quality severly. If you don't plan on using this as a headphone instrument training tool it still works well for the other add-ons, etc. That is the only reason I am being generous enough to give it one star... I should give it zero since the functionality I bought it for has been removed with added bells and whistles I don't care about and ruined the initial design.

Ironic that the app crashes when I try to browse "add gear" - Especially since there's a LOT of gouging with IK. IK COULD become my go-to for all my original music needs, BUT: I bought Vocalive but there doesn't seem to be a way to incorporate the effects with other IK apps, and now they want me to buy the effects I already have via in-app to use them here. No AudioCopy/Audiopaste is a HUGE disappointment and an easy fix to the problem. I have iRig, iRig mic, and I'm registered with both Amplitube Free apps as well as having a couple of the percussion apps. I see no reason to buy the full Ampliutube versions since I'm only interested in a few effects, which I can buy separately and which are not included in the full versions anyway. The hardware is good quality and fair value, although iRig is proprietary (iRig works great with Amplitube and with a couple other apps but feeds back with many competitors. Peavey Link is not proprietary - it works on any modeling app - but it's a cheaper build, more bulky, and requires batteries). The software needs to be intra-compatible to be really useful. For now I'll use Amps&Cabs and Riot FX for practice, FourTrack and MultiTrack DAW for recording, and Vocalive as a toy. Make IK work universally with other IK and I'll throw another hundred bucks their way tweaking my gear - but I'm not sinking another dollar into IK until they start showing repeat customers some love. ~D!
