Checked in before the flight and were assigned seats, both right next to one another, only to find out the Athens airport wouldn’t allow access through the boarding and security area without check in wth the attendant. The app does not communicate with united to check in online, therefore it is useless. You’re required to go to the desk to check in, and wait in line for no reason, where they charge you 6 euro a seat for seats that were already assigned. Typical airline price gouging that tries to separate families from sitting together so they can make extra money.

I was on a flight from Venice to Athens. The flight was delayed, but I only found out from airport monitors because I got no notice whatsoever from the app. The app kept showing the flight as on time all the way up to the original departure time. And since there is no way to know if the information on the app is updated, I had to keep force closing, but to no use. Only 15 minutes AFTER the original departure time do I get an email, but it only said the flight was delayed (duh), and there was no estimated time of departure or gate information. Useless!

The new app asks me to download every time I try to use it. I have already downloaded it 10 times.
