Love this company but the app itself needs a bit of work. The medals are beautiful, they give great deals and you can earn coupons by exercising everyday which I think is a great motivator. The medals are shipped promptly once you complete a challenge and they send little cards with motivation on them. Doing to year challenge they will also send actual postcards about the country which I absolutely love, those were an unexpected wonderful surprise! One time they even sent out water bottle with Shark week for free (I did sign up for VIP though) but again completely unexpected and my daughter loves the cup, she stole it from me but I won’t let her take it out of the house lol. Okay the hiccup part, the app has glitches that can be annoying. It sometimes won’t pull my data from my watch or other workout apps that it is suppose to sync to, but it’s rare occurrences and I can manually log the exercise. Also the virtual tour, sometimes you can see some beautiful country but since it is linked to google maps it’s mostly streets and highways. But the milestones where you learn something about the type of challenge your doing is fun! In fact one of the more recent ones Zombie Madness taught about zombies and history in the movies, we even found one of the old movies it mentioned ranked worse movie (it got the Turkey award) from the 60’s which is awesome! The social aspect is lacking a little too. It’s hard to say follow or meet people through the app that are also doing the challenges though it seems to have that aspect but doesn’t really work. So overall I give it a 5 star since the hiccups aren’t worth reducing it a star since the medals and motivation and workouts are all so awesome!
I’m updating my review to 1. The online functionality is way better than the app. I took a screen recording and sent it to customer service because online I can choose that I want to finish a race in 31 days, but on the app I can only use the sliding scale that is base on whole number miles. Of course the first response is - did you deleted and reinstall the app. Yes I have multiple times because my workouts stop syncing at least once a month - then new workouts will sync but I have to manually add the ones that won’t come up even though my total daily activities show. It is getting frustrating that that is the answer though. I shouldn’t have to uninstall and reinstall each time or week or once a month to use the app properly. The response received was “ Okay so I have been informed the app is just rounding. The number of miles adjusts daily, recalculating from what the previous workouts are.” I’ve read response from the company to prior reviews who asked “did you reinstall the app” or “did you submit a ticket” and “we’ve put in a lot of work to update these issues” and I’m still experiencing the same issues, and on top of that, the customer service isn’t understanding the issues. It feels like I’m talking to people that don’t even under the product. Once I finish out the fairytale series and my Happy Camper race, if these issues aren’t fixed, I’ll be searching for a new virtual race platform.
I love this app! It’s so easy to use there are so many virtual races to choose from and it really motivates me to get out and get my steps in every day! It’s so fun to have a goal to work towards and you get to choose what kind of reward you receive be it a medal, t-shirt or both! I’m a huge fan of the medals, they are always better than the picture and it’s an awesome reminder of all the hard work you’ve done!! The app is very user friendly and each race has an awesome route that you can virtually follow along with on the app so it’s like you’re traveling all over the world with out leaving your house! And, IMO, the price is right for each race. I’ve paid more for live races and gotten less! Would definitely recommend to everyone!
