The app is relatively well organized and easy to navigate. However, I’m taking 3 stars off of my rating because it keeps opening my internet browser when I use it. When I tap on and open an article in the app, it’ll subsequently open my internet browser, open a new tab, and pull up a blank page. It only recently started doing this, and not only is it obnoxious, but it also feels like a huge security risk. If the developers fixed this issue, I’d happily give the app a 5 star rating. Until then, 2 stars it is.

This app is a fine news app, but if you’re someone who likes control of notifications, don’t get it. Within the settings on the app, you can pick what type of notifications you want to get — traffic, local news, weather, breaking news, sports, etc. However, the app ignores your selections in those settings and notifies you of everything. So it’s an all-or-nothing proposition with notifications. As a result, you will get about 10 notifications per day about everything from a new hot chocolate recipe to a traffic accident on a road you never travel, to a robbery at a nearby store. It’s all too much for me, uninstalled.

I 💜💜 this News app! Its on point and keep me updated with school closures, weather, sports, Breaking News and the News in general! I’ve told my friends about it! ABC has always been my favorite News station! Honestly, I downloaded the app because I was out of town and my youngest son is in Middle school. I wanted to keep abreast what was happening with the snow and school closings! I’m glad that I downloaded this app...ABC News 8 WRIC...🎉Happy Holidays to Everyone 🎉🎄✨
