White Noise+ Relaxing Sounds

There’s loads and loads of white noise apps online these days, and so many of them are junk. Needlessly complex apps that demand a not-inconsiderable monthly subscription service, or make wild claims about being some sort of life changer. Thankfully, WhiteNoise+ is not one of those. It’s pretty simple and intuitive with its grid layout system, and the paid version is only a $5 upgrade. It knows what it needs to be and does that well, and that’s all I can ask from a high quality product. Very strong recommendation from me!

The app is great and it’s very fun to move different sounds across the board to get different effects. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because you can’t do much unless you buy the extra packages. If you don’t purchase them there are video adds every 3 minutes, you can’t use all of the sounds, you can’t save anything, or set timers. Probably the worst part of it all though is whenever you click the menu bar or when you click on something accidentally that you haven’t unlocked, an add pops up explaining how you can purchase these packages and unlock everything. This really annoys me. I get that they have to do this to make money, but it really bothers me. If they could at least unlock a few more sounds and allow you to save the things you made, it really would make the app a lot better.

I love how you can overlay the ambient noises and create your own unique sounds and be able to save them! I used asoftmurmur website for a while on my computer to help me study and initially searched for that to get the ambient noise on my phone. I downloaded that version first, but it only had 4 sounds available with no way of purchasing more or any directions on how the app even functioned: completely confusing and ineffective. White Noise+ was suggested in the similar options, so I gambled and love it! However, you cannot access the majority of the noises and other features without paying. This is not a problem for me, though, because the price is very reasonable and affordable. You can choose to pay for everything at once to unlock all the features or you can purchase individual aspects for cheaper if you don't want to unlock everything. It was only 2.99 to get everything, so I purchased it because I wanted to access the fireplace (or campfire) noise, which was not one of the free choices. (Free options: rain, wind, thunder, and white noise. You can overlay these and create unique sounds but cannot save it. Further options available with purchase: wind chimes, birds, stream, waves, fire, crickets, leaves, bells, whale, bubbles, drops, train, heart beat, Tibetan bowls, drone, and chords.) This app has the largest selection of ambient noises I've seen out of any app thus far and is very easy to navigate. However, I am unsure if the 2.99 purchase was a one time thing or if it is a monthly fee; it was unclear and didn't really specify. Overall, this is an excellent app for concentration and relaxation, and I would highly recommend it. I've had it a little over a week and have already noticed a significant difference in my work and rest. I'm a college student: My stress levels are high, and my time is very limited. This is the only review I have ever written, but I felt compelled to do so because it has helped increase my productivity and ease my anxiety. I hope it remains the same!
