Metronome Tuner | Practice+

A couple days use, and I was sold. I have tried numerous other practise apps, but this one beats them out. It has a clean, easy to use interface, but it is still very powerful, and has a multitude of amazing features at the reach of your fingertips. Firstly, I will talk about the metronome. It has, again, a clean, user-friendly interface. You can adjust the tempo precisely by tapping the arrows, or, for larger tempo changes, hold down on the number and circle your finger. You can make use of complex poly rythyms and different key signatures, as well as changing what kind of pendulum interface to use. You can also change the sound. Speaking of sound, the tuner! It has, once again, a clean and simple interface, and prescise tuning capabilities. You can use the tuner while using the metronome, and you can toggle between a prescise tuner, or a tuner that simply shows what note the pitch you are playing/singing is closest to. The next feature, my favorite feature, is the practise metronome. You can set a metronome to loop for a certain amount of measures, and when you have gotten through those measures, make the tempo faster. Very useful for practising the same run over and over again. Overall, as I said in the beggining, this is the best tuner app on the market, in my opinion. Perhaps the only fault is the ads, but they are non-intrusive and can be removed with a cheap $1 purchase. From the metronome, to the tuner, to the practise features, this app makes use of all the powerful things you can do with an IPhone. If you are on the edge between this app, and another, I urge you to get this one. Ciao!

This app is great for serious musicians! It is a loud metronome that also bonuses as a tuner (in paid versions). There is just one annoying problem, however: the advertisements. If the ads sat on the top or bottom of the screen, there would be no problem; however, in the most annoying times, ads pop up full screen and takes a few seconds to click out of them. Message to the developer: please have advertisements sit in a banner at the top or bottom of the UI so that full screen ads would not be a problem.

I am a cellist and I use this app every single day. Not merely to tune my strings, but to practice intonation and timing. The paid version is absolutely 100% worth it, and the people whining about the disabled features in the free version clearly don't understand how well-designed this app is. I use all the features. It will record, play a metronome in any meter with any accented beats, play drone notes, and even play the drone while the metronome is going. Best of all, it has this awesome feature where you can set the metronome to speed up based on the looping of a set number of measures. And it's totally customizable. The only comparison to this app is the very expensive Boss branded tuner metronome devises, but unlike the Boss, Practice+ fits in your pocket. For a serious musician, this is the best option. For added volume, a simple bluetooth speaker works great.
