I’ve been looking for an app that would allow me to track my urine output. seems in my mind I pretty much live in the bathroom. I have what’s known as a lazy bladder and I pee all the time. Now that I’m closely reaching 62 and diabetes is something of a family concern, I thought this app could help me determine if I pee more after consuming coffee/caffeine, water or if it’s due to an underlying and undiagnosed medical issue. I’m also not a huge fan of drinking plain water but I know it’s a must for a healthy life, so I do like the water reminder (however since I pretty much pee every 30-40 minutes, the water reminder doesn’t go off that often). I also love that this syncs with my Apple Watch and tracks my handwashing. I’m very impressed with the app and the response by the developer when I had a question. I think for my purposes (adding notes during each visit to the bathroom- or what I drank before- will help me determine how much or how little I pee) it’s worth the annual subscription.
The truth is, I am an adult male who has a bladder of the size of a chipmunks. In Mason years, I’ve been struggling with frequent urination. The ability to have an app that allows me to easily track how often I pee, and then export a spreadsheet I can provide to my doctor has been incredibly helpful. The watch compilation is especially helpful. I wear my Apple Watch 23 hours a day, simply charging it for around an hour at dinner time. Overnight I benefit from sleep tracking, waking up to my alarm, which is a light tap on my wrist from my watch (much nicer than a blaring sound), AND I have the PNC compilation right on the home screen to my watch. When I get up a couple times during the night, I simply tap the face of my watch and choose log pee. It only takes about a second. Such a tiny level of effort provides me very detailed data on how frequently I’m urinating which my doctor can use to help assess me.
I think I discovered this app in 2017 when I was experiencing some issues with my prostate. At that time, I wanted to track the duration between my bathroom breaks, which the app incredibly helped with. I have an on-and-off relationship with the app because sometimes I didn't need it. Well, I got tired of logging pees every 40 minutes or so; so I stopped. However, as my prostate issue came back and I just had prostate surgery, so I decided to give the app another "full-time" go to help me track the time duration between my bathroom breaks. I even subscribed to John's fancy subscriber options (which are amazing, by the way). It's true that this app is designed for hydration reminders, but it's been incredibly useful for me as a prostate issue tracking app. Before my surgery, I would need to go every 30-45 minutes, but now the app shows me that I can wait for at least 2 2 1/2 hours or more. I feel much better, but I still use John's amazing app to keep me updated with my "new" prostate. I'm forever grateful to John and his P app. Even though I didn't use it regularly over the last 5 years, I have logged every visit to the bathroom since my surgery. Thanks a bunch, John! Yes, you are the best.
