I’ve used the app for a few years now because I mostly fly VA from London to Asia - typically 2-3 flights a year. For some reason that baffles me, VA seem to auto-expire your account password every few weeks, without telling you. If you try to login to the app after they have mysteriously expired your password, you just get a generic “sorry, name to log you in. please try again later” message with NO indication that it is because of an expired password. So you go mad trying again and again not knowing why your password (saved surely in a password manager) isn’t working. If you are lucky, if you try to login directly on the website, that’s when you’ll be told that your password has expired. This means that almost every single time between the time I book a flight and I need to fly, the darn password is expired and I have to jump through hoops to access my booking on the app. They haven’t bothered fixing this stupidity in at least 5 years. The development and testing team should be embarrassed.

The App is the most frustrating app that I have. Invariably I have to log back in when I open the app. Sometimes it stays open for a period of time then out of nowhere it wants me to log back in. I can never simply log back in! I add my details and it never lets me in first time, so I try other ways to log in - like use my membership number rather than my email or answer the security questions and it never lets me log in. I end up using Google/Safari to log in and reset my password AGAIN. It’s so frustrating to not be able to simply log in. Aside of that thorn in my side - ‘loyalty points’!! Between myself and my husband we have flown 4 times from UK to Barbados(long haul) in just over 12 months and are due to fly again soon and our point will be expired because they are worth pretty much nothing. I can’t seem to spend them/use them. Considering the cost of flights and holidays vs the cash value of the point, I can say that I get mow for my money using Asda rewards app! Crazy. Virgin please sort out your app.

This is my first review that I've written, there seemed to be so many bad reviews about this app I felt I should say my bit. They have updated this app since a lot of these reviews were written and I experienced none of the most popular complaints This app did everything I needed it to do, I could log into my account, clearly see all my details and easily navigate my way around, I booked a flight with no issues or crashes, it was a quick simple process. It still needs to have a few more options but in time they will come I'm sure. I gave it 4 not 5 stars because it still needs a little more work to be fully up to speed, but this app will do what you expect it to do.
