Digits is one of the most unreliable apps released by t mobile

I’ve been a T-Mobile customer for years, but the Digits app is easily one of the worst products they continue to offer. At this point, it feels more like an abandoned beta project than a service customers are expected to rely on. The app constantly requires me to log out and log back in—sometimes multiple times every month—just to get it working again. If you depend on Digits for business or important personal communication, that’s simply unacceptable. Incoming text messages are frequently delayed or never arrive at all. Even worse, outgoing text messages often fail to send without any meaningful explanation. You never know whether your message actually reached the recipient, making the app completely unreliable for everyday communication. Oddly enough, photos usually send without much trouble, but multimedia files consistently fail. If you need to send anything beyond a simple picture, don’t count on Digits. Attachments routinely fail, making the app useless for sharing documents or other media. What’s most frustrating is how little progress has been made over the years. The app rarely receives meaningful updates, and many of the same problems that existed years ago still exist today. It gives the impression that T-Mobile has simply stopped investing in it while continuing to market it as a viable service. If your phone number is important to you, don’t trust Digits to handle it. You’ll spend more time troubleshooting than communicating. I’d honestly recommend paying for a competing service rather than relying on Digits. A communication app should be dependable, and unfortunately, Digits is anything but!

Garbage

The point of Digits is to keep you connected and it can do that somewhat some of the time. But then you will have your first blackout and the phone number will stop taking incoming calls randomly and you won’t realize it until you log into the app and nothing is there: your call logs, your past text messages, your digits phone book; ALL GONE without any warning and without a backup on your phone. You then spend five hours over three days to get it all back, with someone in another country constantly apologizing, and “escalating” your case, but still no calls and no history so you can’t even call people from another line to warn them that your digits line is out of order. It’s garbage. Being disconnected randomly is not worth $10 a month or really any amount of savings when you consider that you probably make your living off of being connected. I wish I had never heard of Digits period. Ow I need to figure out how to back up all my data from their servers and move onto a new provider. I liked TMobile before this but now they can fall off a cliff for all I care. The text messages are also limited to old SMS standards (160 characters). They come in the wrong order so long messages come in jumbled, you can’t send a video attachment, the whole thing is glitchy even when it is “working” and it leaves you constantly wondering if messages sent right or may have been received. Oh, and did I mention: It’s Garbage? So zero stars and congratulations TMobile, you just lost a 20+ year customer.

Significant Issues after last update

I have been using Digits for 4 years for my business line. There have been glitches here and there - I have to log out and back in or restart the app occasionally because it stops syncing, and the connection isn’t always reliable for phone calls - but it has been working well enough for the most part and I mostly use text. In the last few weeks, I have now had the app completely fail multiple times. I get a message that the app is having issues/not responding, and then when I try to log in or restart, I just get a screen that says ‘Fetching Data’ that never changes or loads, even after restarting my phone. I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app several times, and have lost all of my text messages and some of my contacts each time. If it doesn’t improve, I may have to switch companies.
