TB Stealth 500

Aside from being a business owner, I’m a gamer too. My gaming days go back to the first Atari console. At 59 years old, believe it or not I just purchased my first gaming headphones. OMG. I never knew what I was missing until I bought these recently. The Super Human Hearing feature makes it sound like I’m inside the game itself. I spent $70 on the TB Stealth 500 headphones and they are well worth it in my opinion. They are quite comfortable too with a long battery life. The Swarm II app works great with my headphones as well. A+

cool but

This is not a review of the app which is a solid app that does what is supposed to do. but a review of the Stealth 600 gen three. these headphones are inconsistent with connection. coming from the stealth 600 gen one to the three i thought i would be upgrading. i was wrong. there has been one example of the headphones losing connection and taking over 10 seconds to reestablish connection. and in an online match those seconds are important. on top of that the headphones when in “super human hearing mode” the audio does this digital static sound that is completely distracting and unpredictable. i’ve returned the headphones for a new pair of the same model but it looks like it is the same issue for the brand across the board regardless of a fluke pair. This is a shame because i’ve grown to like Turtle beach as a brand and trusted them for my first purchase of my stealth 600 gen one. that pair lasted me almost 10 years had they not fallen apart from years of love and use. thanks for reading.

Over engineered a simple product.

Firstly, any item that performs a singular task (in this case a headset that was purchased for an Xbox transmitting sound from that Xbox to the headset) SHOULD NOT NEED UPDATES. ITS A HEADSET. Secondly, ridiculous that basic controls like mic monitoring or eq are locked behind a mobile app that requires you to use BOTH transmitters to update even if you purchased it just for Xbox. What if I didn’t have another console or computer? What if I didn’t use a phone? Why are you forcing me to use both when I only want/need one to be working properly. On top of all of that, THE UPDATE DOESN’T EVEN WORK. Both transmitters will be plugged in and it’ll disconnect from one the second the update starts. For the love of god, make products work out of the box. Why are my controls locked behind an app I need to use on my phone. What does my phone have to do with my headset I purchased for my XBOX. Stop over complicating things. I loved the first gen stealth headset I purchased. Worked right out of the box. Connected instantly. No transmitters. Now you’ve improved nothing and made it unnecessarily complex, in addition to forcing updates for an extremely simple product. Wireless headset technology has existed for almost 2 decades. Never requiring ‘updates’. Turtle beach joining the trend of releasing half baked tech in hopes of fixing it down the line. Nice. Love to see it.
