Superhuman Mail

I just started a trial of Superhuman. If you’re interested, you should be able to find a 30-day free trial link on Reddit or the like. Saw that folks like Marques Brownlee used it and wondered why. Now I know. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for in an email app. It works seamlessly with my work M365 and personal gmail accounts. It integrates events beautifully, has an AI that actually understands what I need and does it, makes it easy to reach inbox zero, and ensures I don’t forget things—scheduled emails and reminders work flawlessly. I work in academia, but I rely heavily on email, both for work and occasionally for personal use. Superhuman handles it all really well. The only drawback, as others have noted, is the lack of an integrated inbox for multiple accounts—you have to keep separate tabs open. Hopefully, that changes in a future update. Otherwise, this app is nearly perfect, and it’s improving fast with crazy AI improvements on the horizon. Definitely worth trying!

First off, yes, this is probably the most expensive email app/client you will use. I’ve used them all… I’ll go back to some of the other ones when they add updates, etc to see if I can save some money and be as/more efficient. Always end up going going back to SuperHuman as it saves me time in my daily email triage. Some the more recent AI features are useful but nothing revolutionary. Can’t wait to see the company that finally nails AI and email. Have spent a lot of time training and customizing the client over the last 2+ years. I do use this in conjunction with Sanebox as I’ve found the block/spam feature not great and I’ve never been a fan of one single unified inbox. The consultation (if they still do that) is a great idea as this is a different client than most and the onboarding is helpful. They want you to be successful. The investment of this app should make you want to make sure it’s the right fit. Support is responsive and easy access to a (super)human is built into the app. One last point. This is really a keyboard command driven app. There is a bit of a learning curve if you aren’t used to it but once you have it down, inbox zero or as close to that is possible.

Email has been unchanged for so long, it’s nice to see how Superhuman has taken a modern approach to organizing large amounts of data at your fingertips. I really like how you immediately see all the details about who you’re talking with and what communication you’ve had in the past. A lot of small quality of life features make email much better for its intended purpose. The web app is great also, it’s a little pricey but if you use email professionally, it quickly pays for itself without having to go through and find old emails and make notes about things that superhuman already collects for you. It’s a top app for its purpose and the company’s support and treatment of the customer makes it feel like a luxury.
