Stringr Video

I downloaded this app and had it about 3 months. And I accepted some multiple weather jobs on here and it was a waste of time and a disappointment. I’m a professional photographer for 14 so that being said I was out in several severe thunderstorms and even a Arctic blizzard. When I uploaded my assignments only a handful would show under my uploads an after 15 min just disappeared and the rest never even reached my uploads but I received confirmation of them being uploaded. You don’t actually even know if they sell your videos an just keep the money . They say only if someone buys your video but when you are giving what they want in extreme weather and do multiple uploads at multiple locations and to never get paid. I don’t think this company is totally legit. If you want people to risk their well-being you should pay them for their work no matter what . A base pay an add a commission if it gets bought . We should be given a document statement that our video was bought . You should have a team unity with giving employees a company logo shirt to wear on assignments an a professional company ID BADGE WHEN FILMING so we are not being embarrassed when not giving access at sort locations. The people giving great reviews an 4/5 stars are fake reviews paid reviews because if you are really working for this company the. You will no what I’m saying is the truth.!!! Company needs to Invest in the employees in order to see a major boom in its success.!

I’ve been working with Stringr for almost 3 years. I live in a large community where it’s generally quiet but I still get assignments almost weekly. All my videos were purchased. Stringr support staff very easy to contact if I have questions. And they contact me via text or phone call if it’s high priority. Pay is done within hours of uploading videos. I’ve even done videos where I received payment without being assigned. Not all of them I got paid for but I generally know what Stringr or their clients might be looking that is news worthy or relevant. My advice is if your on the Stringr platform and you happen upon an event you feel may be news worthy (and safe) stop and take the videos & upload. You never know if they will sell but I like my track record so far. If you don’t have a badge reach out to Stringr and they will send you a PDF where you can place in a lanyard to hang around your neck and boom, you have credentials to give you access to press only events. I cut and paste my photo on the PDF so it looks very professional. Please keep the assignments coming.

Well, let me review this app as a professional videojournalist who work with it for about a year. I can’t say it’s totally scam, because almost 70% of my videos have been downloaded and I got paid for them. I know how to film an event and I always use a professional gear to provide a quality job. The first thing that I don’t like this app is they pay way less than what they should pay for their assignments. The second thing is they are not a news organization and when you show up in an event requesting by them you don’t have any press pass from them to provide. When you interview someone and they ask where they can find the footage, always your answer is “I have no idea”. They never give you the name of the customer who downloaded your footage because they don’t want you to figure out that they sold your footage to them for $400 and they paid you $40. The third thing was I contacted them several times asked them stop sending text message on my phone, because I receive all the requests directly on the app and if I’m interested to cover it up I will accept it, and if I’m not interested or I’m busy somewhere, then I don’t, so texting me is not going to help at all. Last time I answered their text message like: “leave me alone!” After that they unsubscribe my account and I was not able to get any requests. They keep bothering you 100 times a day, or they cut you off, there is no middle spot to work with them.
