Smart Closet - Your Stylist

The app is great, it has great functionality. You can add multiple photos at once and edit them right away. The problem for me is the lack of full screen pics... When I click on the pic it opens a small pic at the top of the screen with the bunch of info at the bottom. I love the info but when choosing clothes I prefer to look at the pics than at whether it's a skirt or a dress, or if it's for summer and winter. Believe it or not, just by looking at the pic I can determine what type of clothing it is and if I can wear it outside if it's too cold... To see the whole pic or to see it full screen you need to click edit and then crop... Those are two completely unnecessary steps to see the pic properly. Just enlarge the pic of the clothing and decrease the size of the clothes info. It's unnecessary and impractical to take half the space of the screen.

After reading a review in an (older) article for this app, I was so excited to download a super simple cataloguing app that is just a virtual version of my closet. I was so disappointed to find that it’s trying to become an Instagram for outfits. I spend way more than enough time every day struggling not to waste time on social media, and here I’m faced with a homepage that begs for more social attention. GOODBYE. My second enormous frustration with this app is the almost useless search tool. I wanted to have access to merchant pictures of my items, so I could log everything quickly (without having to take photos of everything I own, who has time for that) and to curate a streamlined, visually appealing and accurate virtual closet. I go to search the Victoria’s Secret brand category, stack of VSX sports bras and leggings in hand, and clicking through to Victoria’s Secret -> Activewear yields...three sports bras. That’s what I had to choose from, for a major, mainstream brand. I tried again with an H&M bra and an Old Navy dress; no results even close to the items I wanted to log. I am now resigned to taking pictures of as many things as possible, which will take forever, look messy on the app, and probably never allow me to log the entirety of my closet’s contents.

I switched over to this app from Closetspace, because they stopped updating the app and was starting to get glitchy. I really enjoy this one a lot more because i can remove the backgrounds of the items, and makes collaging them easier. It’s simple and easy to use. The option to randomize outfits is great, and actually looks like it makes “informed” decisions, i.e. it might choose a pink top, and match it with a random bottom and then pink shoes. Saving looks is easy, and i like that i’m able to filter by season or by occasion, and that i can add or remove occasions. The packing list feature has been absolutely essential for me, as i travel a lot. It lets you make outfits and then will ask if you want it to add the items in the outfit to your packing list, so you know exactly what to pack. The only thing i’m missing with this feature is that when creating a look, i can’t filter by items in my packing list, i have to scroll through all my closet and try to remember whats on my packing list. If this was added, i would overpack way less. Another point of feedback, is that even though i have created an account, it won’t show my items when i try to log in on my ipad, it seems like the closet is connected to the device rather than the account. Also i would really love an apple watch and get reminders for my outfits, upcoming trips etc. apart from all this though, it’s a great app for anyone that want to organize their closet and be creative with what they wear!
