Really tried to like this game but didn’t make it too far in. Can’t do much without either spending money to buy fortune cookies or watching an ad to progress different life aspects LITERALLY every other minute. I get that real life has a “grind phase” before you get to real money. But I just couldn’t get past the game mechanics. The girlfriend part is broken imo - she’s a “requirement” to progress in a bad job, that doesn’t make sense. Then you have to watch the most ads and gifts etc to keep her satisfied and you don’t even have a timer or anything to know the pace at which her “mood” will decline (kudos for getting that real life aspect right - but it’s still broken game mechanics to me). I also was operating at a $1300 surplus from a good job, but somehow was still losing money?? I had over $100k, didn’t take any losses from the quests (don’t get me started on the paid fortune cookie baiting there) and after watching 2-3 ads for girlfriend and college came back to find my bank only had $80K in it. How?? Ultimately, the game can be good and fun. Some things could stand to be fixed for the early player. If you want to spend $30 on a game to only have to keep on buying fortune cookies (unless you want to pay $25 for good luck the whole game) then this game is for you. I played the game twice, b/c of the ads I actually put prolly 2+ hrs into it. Deleted out of frustration. Hopefully this helps someone.
I’ve played a lot of idle sims, but this one stands out. The poor-to-rich progression is really satisfying, and the way your character levels up from scratch feels earned. I like that the game doesn’t push ads aggressively and lets you build at your own pace. The mini-games are a nice bonus too. Would love even more customization options and maybe a few career paths to choose from. Still, a solid 5-star experience for what it is!
The concept of the game is really good. However, every scenario that occurs almost always results in a negative way unless you pay for fortune cookies to give you the best result for a scenario. Same applies once you own a business. In every scenario for a business decision, the best option can only be selected if you pay for fortune cookies. If you don’t buy the fortune cookies then you’re left with the worst decisions to select from, and go from making X amount to dollars to losing X amount of dollars every month due to something called “unforeseen circumstances.” You end up losing money at a ridiculously fast pace to the point where claiming the free money after watching an ad can’t save you and ultimately making you start over because of it. The chapter progressions also get more and more ridiculous to unlock as your monthly income makes it impossible to unlock the next chapter unless you sell properties and play the side games which still wouldn’t help bc the winnings get outweighed by your losses of earnings each month. You will almost certainly have to pay for cash to unlock the further chapter progressions each time and other personal upgrades to apply for new jobs. Overall great concept but just your typical pay to win slop. Unless you have the time to just sit and watch ads hours on end, then I wouldn’t even bother playing this.
