Ruby Rewards

I live in the New Haven area and there was a Ruby Tuesday in North Haven that I enjoyed going to. Unfortunately it closed down and somehow I thought the entire chain had closed. I go up to Bradley Airport a lot and drive on Ella T. Grasso Blvd ever so often and never noticed there was a Ruby Tuesday there. Yesterday while driving on the Blvd, looking for a place to have lunch, and there it was!! I went in and was greeted and seated right away as it wasn’t busy. My server Tracy R. greeted me pleasantly and took my order. They have this awesome pick 3 option on the menu, which I chose as it was the perfect comfort food I needed. I chose the sliders, potato skin and Parmesan wings and topped that off with a Strawberry Lemonade. I was not in a salad mood so I didn’t add the salad bar. Let me tell you, I did not use the 2 forks they gave me as to me they were finger foods. Everything was absolutely delicious!! As I was completing my food, getting every meat off my chicken wings, 3 handsome guys came in and were seated right across from me. Oh you ain’t gonna stop me from licking my chops here, so without even looking their way I finished off my meal, leaving just the bare bones from the wings. I always need comfort food, so this will be my go to place and meal option when I’m in Windsor Locks.

Our service could’ve been a lot better. We sat at a four top that only had silverware for two. Our waiter didn’t bring us another set. We had to wait 15 minutes before someone would take our drink order, then another 10 minutes for us to order our dinner. Two of us ordered the 2/$25. When we received our app the waiter brought three dirty plates. I asked another male to bring us three clean plates. By the time we received three clean plates our appetizer was cold. My boyfriend had to get a set of silverware from another for me. I had ordered the tenders with zucchini. When we received our food it was hot. I asked for ranch dressing for my chicken tenders. We waited for the ranch which we never received. My boyfriend went to the salad bar to get me some. My son ordered the 6 ounce sirloin medium and received it well. The waiter never refilled our drinks. Our waiter came by and asked if we wanted dessert, we didn’t want any. The waiter brought us our check, we asked for three boxes. We waited for 10 minutes for the boxes. Then we had to 10 minutes to pay. As we were leaving the waiter was on his cell phone having a conversation. Overall we’ve received better service from other restaurants.

My daughter and I went here for diner tonight. We waited 20 minutes to put our order in. After 10 I ask for help. We ate our salads from the bar and never got our drinks. The waiter actually brought our food out to the table 40 minutes after we got there, still NO drinks. I ask him if we could get them. He was a nice guy and told us how they are short staff and I understand, but if I was short on the money, I’m sure that would have NOT been OK. I was really surprised that he charges us for the drinks at all after we sit there thirsty, almost the whole time. He then offered to buy our desserts- Next time we come in! Well. this isn’t my first time having similar experiences here. And I probably won’t be back to this location at all. Sad. Because the food was good
