Room escape : Different Spaces

A room escape game essentially. There are lots of puzzles and most of them make sense. There are some that require some major outside of the box skills I apparently don’t have because some don’t make sense at all no matter how much I try to piece it together. And I’ve played hundreds of escape games. Some rooms are really easy though. Graphics are decent but there are some hints that require better vision than I have apparently. Sometimes I have to take a screenshot and enlarge it to see it. I’m playing on an iPhone XR if that helps with size. Some hints are just hard to see because of color blending or jumbled up with the background. All in all I would recommend this game though. 4 stars.

This game was all right. The puzzles weren’t too tough, and when I got stuck, I had plenty of hints to use. There were a lot of levels, so that was good too. There is no story, just a bunch of escape rooms one after another. On the not-so-great side, when you click on the question mark next to a puzzle, what you get is sparse and can be confusing. I also would have preferred intermediate hints, rather than getting the solution to the puzzle on the second hint. And a little more coherence, maybe. The chapter named “Nation” went from Chinese and Japanese themed rooms to Halloween themed ones randomly. Maybe they equate the U.S. with Halloween? I don’t know, it was a bit weird. But overall, I enjoyed figuring out the puzzles and didn’t pull my hair out trying to work them out.

I’m surprised this game is free even with the ads. There are a lot of levels to go through and the ads aren’t too intrusive. You can skip them after a few seconds or let them play a full 30 seconds for a hint. The ads are pretty relevant to the type of game as well. I’ve already played a good number of the games being pitched. As for the game itself, it’s pretty casual. Not super challenging but enough for me to get a sense of accomplishment. It’s rare I get stuck and it’s almost always because there’s an area I didn’t know was clickable. Hints are easy to get as well.
