This app is incredibly powerful and deep. Yes, it has a bunch of camera features which are fun and cool in their own right. But the image editor is every bit as capable as Lightroom mobile, and in a number of ways, even moreso. It has pretty much everything Lightroom has, from local adjustments to masking to color grading to a much better implementation of simulated lens bokeh, and much more. This app is also well-optimized for mobile devices. Even on my 9 year old 2nd gen iPad Pro, it runs super fast and smoothly, and much better than Lightroom. One other big plus: this app offers a one-time purchase option instead of paying a subscription. This has become so rare and I really appreciate devs that still offer this.
Before the update I used to take Aperture photos and get a screenshot of the photo even if the photo and screenshot was of a mediocre quality and I was fine with that, after all, I was using the app for free, small price to pay to be able to take photos of my pets with a blurry background and I was extremely happy - now, they no longer allow us to do that and it’s not like the devs did not know we were taking screenshots of the photos we took because as soon as I screenshot a photo, they would give us a message telling us of the inferior photo quality from screenshots and encouraged us to pay for a subscription and that was fine. Now, greed is taking over a once good free app. Good riddance. I was actually gonna buy a Lifetime subscription when I had money to spare, not anymore. With this sneaky greedy action, it wouldn’t surprise me if in 1 year they come out with a revamped version of the app and force us to re-buy another app.
Spent around 25$ for a one time purchase, and this app is INCREDIBLY GOOD! Best money value-for-money app available for editing. I absolutely LOVE the blur, bokeh, and especially the petz85 and zenit lenses. They look incredible, especially when paired to an actual dslr, But…. -PLEASE ADD depth-of-field manual adjustments. Sometimes the AI can get it wrong and it can be painful. -Another thing to add would easily be a dark car-focused preset, or even better, a VHS/Hi8 preset where it lowers the resolution and styles it similarly, -And finally, if you are even able to, add some sort of AI that can take one photo’s style and perfectly apply it to another without manual adjustment, like same exposure levels, color grading, etc. One thing I notice while editing photos is that if I copy a preset over from one preset it’ll either look great, or have to be adjusted a bit. Overall, this app is pretty much the best app you can get for picture editing on the app store, and the DSLR and videography features are incredibly good too, but there are some slight editing features that really should be added.
