PlayOn Cloud - Streaming DVR

I have a ton of streaming subscriptions and am frustrated that they don’t allow you to download movies/shows to watch offline- or if they do- they are limited and most of them expire within 48 hours after you start to watch them, and you can only watch them once. Playon Cloud is easy to install and once you place shows in your queue- you can just close your device and let them download in the cloud. You can either set them to auto download to your device or go out using the downloader and put them on a PC. I chose to download them to a PC as MP4 files because I want to be able to move on and off my device as space is needed. If you download them to your iPad/iPhone - it places them inside your app where you can watch them, but you can’t move them- all you can do is delete them. If you ever want to watch them again- as long as they are still saved in your cloud files, you can still download them again, but that’s more of a pain than just putting them on a USB thumb drive. A little frustration at first when it took a couple hours for the recording to start going- but all got resolved. Apparently they do occasional server maintenance which will hold things up for a while.

Rather than setting up a television to a computer with display links, adapters, & additional cords to connect everything to a potential server, which stores your own movie library by playing the content on screen within a screen capturing program. PlayOn does absolutely all of this process for you 'virtually'! As was once dreamt up years ago as our streaming services properly enhanced themselves wihout glitches. Now the only reason to have to play the downloadable content, other than to pick & choose & watch it, is to test if PlayOn got a proper, glitch-free recording, and it has never failed to do so since having found this subscription service! From SD 480p to now FHD 1080p in the newly updated version of the PlayOn App, your downloaded movies & series can now be kept saved FOREVER! A MUST HAVE FOR ANY CINEPHILE!!!

Great app providing a useful service at a low cost with easy functionality. Would love two basic enhancements if anyone out there is listening. First, start recordings where they left off when watching something in more than one sitting. This happens if I have to close the app for a few minutes but if it’s a longer amount of time (say, start in morning then resume in evening) the app defaults to start the recording from the beginning. Second, sorting of recordings should be A to Z, not Z to A. For example, if I download 5 episodes of a show the 5th episode is first by default. They allow you to switch the order but you have to do it every time you go to your recordings which is kind of annoying. Great app overall that I’ve recommended to quite a few folks since using it myself.
