Channels for HDHomeRun!

Love the way you can bypass commercials. However, why this app is named Channels is beyond me. You don’t have the option to surf channel numbers thru the guide to select only one series on that channel alone. Instead, it selects every channel a series airs even though it’s duplicating the show on HD as well as lower channels. Then, there’s other channels that airs repeat episodes, like USA, for example and labels them as first run because it is running for the first time on their channel, but they’re repeat episodes. If I could delete all programs on that channel that are being recorded that would be an option, or choose to record a series only on that channel is another option.

First, I want to say that I’m a notorious cheapskate. I’m the guy who has only paid for like ten or twelve apps in his entire life, so spending this kind of money on an app was not a decision I made lightly, nor should anyone. It was when I stopped thinking about it as an app purchase that it became an easier decision to make. Instead, I began looking at it as forever transforming my television viewing experience in a very positive way, which is exactly what this app will do for you. I downloaded the Apple TV version first, because I hate clicking through my local broadcast channels with my television remote. In fact, I hate everything about my television remote! I never want to touch that thing again, and thanks to Channels, I’ll never have to. Now, the Siri Remote is all I need, because my television channels are beautifully laid out with details and pictures in this app, so there’s no need for me to change inputs on the television. I love Channels for watching football because I can just pause it when I receive a phone call or want a beer, and after I’ve built up a buffer while it was paused, I’m able to skip the commercials and enjoy nonstop gameplay. The only way it could have been better is if I could watch two games at once, which is why I bought the iPad/iPhone version of Channels. Now, I can watch the game I really care about on my television and have another game playing on my 12.9” iPad Pro at the same time! I love this app and I wholly recommend it. It’s worth the money.
