NOT the official Sony app
This app appears to be listed as “PlayMemories,” but it is not the official Sony application. Sony discontinued PlayMemories Mobile and replaced it with Imaging Edge Mobile, which is the correct and supported app for Sony cameras such as the A7 III. If you are trying to connect a Sony camera wirelessly, download Imaging Edge Mobile instead. That is the official Sony app. This listing is confusing and may mislead users looking for the genuine Sony software.

Faker, do not use
This is not the real Sony app. Released by some random corporation from China. Your old camera might tell you to use PlayMemories Mobile, but Sony renamed it “Imaging Edge” a long time ago. That’s the right one. Check if the app is released by Sony before downloading. I wouldn’t trust this app with my personal pictures at all, although I heard it works.

FAKE APP
This app isn’t real and mimics the same imagery in the instructions from the Sony cameras. I assume Sony changed the name of their app because this isn’t it and it’s no wonder my camera wouldn’t connect. I had the wrong app by mistake. Hopefully I didn’t get any malware now on the device.
