Pioneer Smart Sync

Not sure what the functionality of this app actually is. I was hoping it would ensure a strong connection between my phone (iPhone14) and the device. However, the app actually gets in the way of that. As I’ve experienced with Pioneer decks before, the phone disconnects when I shut the car off, only sometimes, and then needs to reconnect when starting up the car. It’s much more reliable to just manually connect to the deck thru phone settings/Bluetooth than the app. If there’s something that the app can do, I don’t know what it is that’s beyond what the iPhone can do just on its own. I’d love an app that ensures a strong connection between deck and phone. The deck’s sound and interface and look is soo good, actually perfect? So I’m gonna skip the app so I can remember that and not let this app drag down my impression of the rest of the product I love.

App allows you to save your audio settings and it’s suppose to stay like that, it changes back to flat settings without me doing nothing I have to go back and load settings again. Would love to know is it’s posible that on the unit display I could have the hour as default Also their is no way I could end a call from the head unit , you should add a feature on any key to end the call Unit I’m using is sph-c10bt Another thing that happens is that if your listening to the radio and if you get an audio message on WhatsApp, radio use to switch to BT and hear the audio, now ir your on the radio part and if you play the audio message it mixes with the radio sound Lots of issues , there is no way to hang/ end a call from the head unit , no way to display the hour permanently, only when is off

Contact list import does not import in alphabetical order and is not sortable. Also, the voice search cannot seem to find anyone in my contact list which Siri has no problem finding. Also, when using the navigation (I use Waze) the route audio updates do not play when I'm listening to another input. Other head units typically switch inputs to play the audio and then back to the previous input, ideally just attenuating the current input and allowing the audio from Waze to play over it would be best. Edit: found the audio control for navigation. It's under settings - navigation - guidance volume. I had to add+4 to hear it. Problem is of you're at least listening to the radio, the radio volume doesn't attenuate, so you really just get a jumble of audio. Still nothing with the contact list, probably going to contact support. Another update Oct 12, 2019: after the iOS 13 update, after the app is disconnected from the stereo (when the car is shut off) the media player on the iPhone stays active, showing on the home/lock screen until the smart sync app is manually closed. This is annoying as the Apple Watch continues to display that the media player is active and also shows the icon on the watch.
